The Loft at River's Edge is a secluded, spacious, second floor river view apartment separate from the main house. Views of the Connecticut River and Vermont's mountains are breathtaking. Spacious lawns and gardens abound throughout the property. Guests have their own outdoor picnic area where they can enjoy using the fire pit and gas grill. Kayaks, a canoe and other sporting equipment are available to our guests. Our loft is a lovely and peaceful place to call your "home away from home."

The space
The loft is a very clean, quiet, bright place on the second floor over a 2 car garage which is used primarily for storage. The apartment has two entrances and is totally separate from the main house, not sharing a common wall between the two. Guests have loved the fact that it's quiet, secluded and private, spacious, and fully equipped for a comfortable stay. An additional queen bed in the main room can be used for kids or another couple. The bathroom is spacious and has a full-sized tub/shower & vanities. The unit has Wifi and television with DVD player and plenty of DVD's to enjoy. Books and games are available as well. There's air conditioning in the summer and heating unit (both of which guests can regulate to their comfort).

Guest access
Guests may use the entire grounds of the property as much as they'd like. We want our guests to make themselves at home here!

Other things to note
For your convenience, two nice clean laundromats are available for you to use in Woodsville, NH and Wells River, VT called Little Bubbles and Big Bubbles.

Guests visiting during the winter months should have 4WD or AWD vehicles due to the steep hill that goes in and out of the River's Edge property. The hill is sanded but front and rear wheel drive vehicles can have some trouble on occasion and guests can slip and slide on the hill trying to get up the hill, causing the gravel road to get dug up and damaged in the process and causing the guest's car to slide and potentially get damaged if it goes off the road into the ditch on the side of the road. If you don't have an AWD or 4WD vehicle, you should consider booking another location for your trip.

Monroe, New Hampshire, United States

The town of Monroe is a quiet little town sandwiched between mountains and the Connecticut River. The home is close to a neighborhood which makes for great walking, yet completely secluded for peace and quiet. The location is rural with farming properties dotting the landscape.

Although an R.N. by profession, my heart is in the hospitality industry and I enjoy sharing my passion for the mountains and nature with as many people as possible, from all walks of life. My goal is to offer a peaceful, relaxing and most beautiful place for people to escape to in order to re-energize themselves. And, I hope to do this at an affordable rate so many people can enjoy what I have to offer. I have shared 37 years married to a devoted man who is "the wind beneath my wings" and raised two incredible kids - a daughter who is a special education teacher and mother of 4 adopted children, and a chemist son who is pursuing his PhD in meteorology. For fun I enjoy hiking, camping, biking, kayaking, writing, community theater and doing numerous outdoor projects. I feel God has blessed me with the opportunity to share this beautiful place with so many travelers and I hope people walk away feeling refreshed and inspired by the experience of living isolated away from the pressures of life in beautiful New Hampshire.

During your stay
We are readily available to our guests, should they want to discuss what restaurants are the "hot spots" for the locals or what shops to visit to make their stay more available. We can provide directions to popular places to visit while visiting here as well. Socializing with our guests is a lot of fun but we take our cues from those who have chosen this wonderful place to stay. We are particularly sensitive about insuring the property remain a quiet haven to each guest who comes to spend time here.
