This is my beloved home, a live-work in a converted warehouse in Jingletown, Oakland. You will have full reign of about 500 sq. feet of open space which is living-room, bedroom, and kitchen combined on the second floor of a two floor live/work studio. Use of my studio downstairs may be negotiated.
My neighbors are great but sound travels. You won't hear them much, but if you like to listen to music loudly late at night, this is not the place for you. This is not a high-end loft, but rather a true live/work. Think painted sub-floor and coated concrete. Stuff gets made here.
1 bed, full kitchen and bathroom with a tub, no TV but there is wifi/Ethernet high-speed Internet, fast enough to watch Netflix.
4 blocks from the freeway, 15 minutes to SF if there is no traffic. Also, I am about 8 blocks from the Fruitvale Bart station. 4 blocks away from Alameda.
Dogs are fine!

Only at check-in or in case of an emergency.

Jingletown is an eclectic neighborhood of artists, light commercial, a few condos, and some multiple generation home owners. There is a non-motorized boat launch area next to the UC Berkeley Rowing Club, and a several block stretch of public access waterfront . We are walking distance to Alameda and the Fruitvale district. This means movies, taco trucks, fresh produce, many restaurants and a few bars are all within walking distance.

We are a 15 min walk from BART (about 8 city blocks), and 5 blocks from a Transbay bus route. We are also an easy cycling distance from downtown Oakland and Jack London Square.

While I have no yard, there are several coutyards and other public outdoor spaces that are part of this studio complex.
I have a dog, a sweet husky named Ziggy. While I endeavor to keep the place dog hair free, this place would not be suitable for someone with a dog allergy.

House Rules

No parties or events

This is my home and full of my personal stuff. Please be respectful of this.
No smoking inside.
No loud music or noise at night.
Dogs are ok, but you are responsible if they break anything.
It is not baby-proof, but older kids should be fine. Keep in mind that the main living space of this loft is one open room, so there is little privacy.
I may be using the studio space downstairs.

Great live/work loft in a very cool part of Oakland. If you were to go just look at the map and see Fruitvale, you probably thought this was in a not so good area, and you would be wrong. This area is so full artists, yes, it's a pretty quirky area, but also very charming; very close to Alameda. The loft itself is typical warehouse loft, high ceiling, and very open. The unit is dog friendly which is cool, and her wonderful dog and my dog get along just fine. Sage is extremely accommodating. My young daughter loves talking to her. Overall, highly recommended.

Fantastic space! I loved staying here, the building is very secure, the neighborhood has many art studios and coops it seems, so it's personality has a residential yet artsy/industrial flair to it. Sage has her studio downstairs, but the upstairs is a huge open space, high vaulted ceilings, huge windows that face East. Note: the bed faces these windows so that sun brutally wakes you around 9am, and there are no blinds- if you want to sleep in past 9, it might be a little bright! 12 minute stroll to Fruitvale BART station which will get you to Oakland or SF quickly. Love this place, would visit again!
