Wow what an amazing gem. Could not fault this beautiful lodge. The shower was an absolute highlight, with lush views and plenty of space. Breakfast on the veranda in the morning was delicious and a really nice touch. Dan and Sasha were very warm and welcoming and made us feel right at home. We used the canoe in the morning which was the perfect way to end our stay. Will be recommending this property to my friends and family without a doubt.

The highlight of our holidays in Cairns! We stayed in Palm Cove for a few days and in the Daintree Forest for another couple of days, but discovering Kuranda and to stay at the Great Barron Lodge was by far the best part of our trip! Steve's place is beautiful, it's even better than the pictures! We loved to swim in the river early in the morning (the water is amazing!!), and taking our daughter in the canoe at sunset! Beds were so comfortable and a delicious breakfast served on the terrace every morning! We were greeted and looked after by Dan and Sasha, couldn't think of having met any better hosts, anywhere, ever! 5 stars! Thank you for everything, especially for surprising me with a birthday cake :) We also met Steve, the owner, who was so very welcoming! Really, such a great vibe about everything in this place! We will definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone. A really easy trip from Sydney. Just fly to Cairns and drive 40m to Kuranda! Stay here, you'll be in heaven!

Words fail me! Our stay at Steve's place was such a blessing. Everything was unbelievably beautiful. Steve is a great guy. Dan and Sasha do an exceptional job of hospitality. Breakfast was great - tropical fruit, avocado, egg, toast cereals and juice on the magnificent verandah overlooking the wide peaceful river and rainforest accompanied by a chorus of fascinating bird calls. The views were divine. The decor and linen and pillows were so luxurious. We had a lovely time relaxing and paddling on the river in the canoe. I changed our barrier reef booking as soon as we arrived because I didnt want to waste the opportunity to soak in the beauty of this rainforest retreat. Everything about the home and views was aesthetically exceptional. We had the largest room with private verandah complete with kitchen and large dining table overlooking the river. We also had our own bathroom. We felt like royalty in an Australian rainforest paradise. Can't believe we werent paying over 500 per night. So affordable and magnificent. Thanks so much for everything. It was a once in a lifetime experience! Well hopefully not only once....

Do not hesitate to come to Grand Barron! The welcome, the house, the view from the balconies, the free canoeing on the river ....... all amazing! My family of 4 only stayed one night and that was definitely not enough.

This is a truly beautiful house, spacious, gorgeously decorating in an incredibly beautiful setting. The room overlooked the Barron River, adjacent to some majestic bamboo, the gardens were beautiful and well maintained. Very comfortable bed, spacious room, we would have loved to have stayed longer. Steve and his staff were very welcoming and accommodating, and Frankie, the dog was a lovely addition to our stay. We would love to come back to stay!

I am a semi- retired professional artist living very happily in my guest lodge, meeting new people from all over the world and sharing stories. We have a beautiful young Labrador that loves to swim and play, with guests in the river.
Looking forward to meeting you,
