Jaque's home has a fantastic location and makes you feel at home because it's so clean, cozy and beautifully decorated. We will definitely recommend this venue to anyone coming to progreso in the future :) breakfast is delicious and there's wifi, warm water, hamacas, an oxxo in front of the house and a very comfortable bedroom with AC.

Jacque was very welcoming and the house and room were very clean, even with my kiteboarding gear coming and going. She cooks and has a restaurant on site, where she serves Indian food a couple nights a week. The neighborhood is fine - I felt pretty safe on my own as a female, but still know your surroundings, as with anywhere. Very close to the massive pier and super convenient convenient to the Malecon, where you can find shops, street vendors, restaurants, and a long strip of beach to enjoy. The market is walking distance as well - maybe 10-15 minutes on foot. My main goal was kiting, which was a bit of a haul to the main kite spot via taxi or bus, but I managed. Jacque took me to the spot the first day and introduced me to Angel, who runs Yuckite and seems to run a good school. I met other liters there, who were also very welcoming. Most people are friendly and helpful here.

Jacque made us very welcome, she is enthusiastic and interesting to chat to. She was always willing to assist or accommodate any request we had, and went out of her way to make sure we were happy. Our room was lovely, clean and bright also off the street so much quieter than other accommodations, we had a ceiling fan which was sufficient for this time of year and also had screened opening windows opposite each other to allow the sea breeze through. The king sized bed was comfy and freshly made up. We took up one Jacque's offers of breakfast. She prepared a lovely Mexican dish along with real filter coffee and real fresh milk!! Yum yum! We met Clinton her partner and health practitioner and had an amazing experience with a very different type of energetic massage therapy. We would be happy to do a return visit and possibly a retreat with Jacque when we come back to Mexico in the future.

The Abrazarse Life Retreat Center and Bed & Breakfast has arisen as part of my intention to live my ideal life. Abrazarse means to embrace or hug. Here at Abrazarse Life we want you to have a special experience that allows you embrace life.

I am originally Canadian and in 2009 I went on an adventure to Belize and wrote my book Divine Divorce, How To Make A Great Adventure Out Of The Worst Disaster Of Your Life.

From Belize, the Universe provided the inspiration and resources to bring me to this lovely, quiet, safe, Mexican town on the shores of the gulf of Mexico. Abrazarse Life is my home, my office and a business which I share with those who stay here.

For the past 15 years I have dedicated myself to learning how to find and live my best possible life. The retreat center is the result of a clear intention, to host people for Purposeful Vacations - be it leadership development, recovering from divorce, finding your ideal life or regaining physical mobility and health.

When we are not hosting a retreat, we love to host people who are on vacation.

Our Team:
