Very clean house and the bedroom was very comfortable. The property is very close to lots of food shops and a traditional Onsen. They also let us use their washing machine, and their living room which has a piano. We didn't meet Kunio, but we met his mother who was very nice and spoke very good English. We had some trouble finding the property but she came to meet us and showed us the way. She showed us this Japanese vegetable, which she had grown herself, that can be dried out and used as a sponge and she even gave us one to take home! She also let us try some of her homemade wine which was delicious! She provided us with tea, coffee and bread for the morning, and she even offered us some dinner when we arrived! I highly recommend staying here!

The place is great. Although fairly countryside, the house is located right next to a lot of restaurants. The possibility to use bicycles were a big draw and did not disappoint, we spent several hours on the bicycle following the coastline. The presence of the onsen within walking distance is also a great point. Too bad the weather was cloudy and we could not see the fuji well. At least we are certain that should it be visible, the sight would be awesome. Thanks a lot for your assistance as well Kunio-san.

We used this room as a short stay to deposite our suitcases, because we were heading to climb Mt. Fuji. We felt very welcome there and his dad could speak a little english, enough for us to understand and be understood. He even helped us to order a pizza after we arrived back from the Mt. Fuji. I can only recomend, you will enjoy it. About the room itself, it had enough space for us and was very clean. The only "not compfortable" are futons because they are very thin. But I think it was a nice experience for us. The locations is also very good. 10-15 Minutes walking from the Hara station or a Taxi (about 900 Yen) is a good idea. There is a point where you have to cross a bridge and it wasn't that easy to do it with 2 big suitcases. We even did some walking to explore the neighborhood and did a short walking to the pacific ocean (Do not swimm there!). When we did check-out, his dad did offer to drive us to the Station. It was very kind and we're very thankfull for this.

This review comes with some hard "HOWEVER"s. So before you get cozy with the pros, please read the cons. The location is very cozy. It's close enough to main roads and the Hara station that you can get where you need to go with relative ease. The home is very nice and I can't speak enough great things about the host. He greeted us when we arrived, helped my sweaty ass get to the shower and not make an ass out of myself using it by prepping it for me, and even offered us coffee and a ride to the station. HOWEVER It's a pretty long way from Fuji or any real landmarks so transportation will probably cost you a pretty penny unless you're planning on doing stuff. The bedding was very uncomfortable; it was literally the next best thing to sleeping on a wood surface (the beds have little to no cushion and the floor mats are the same thickness. Maybe I'm too bony but I think I'm fat enough that someone thinner may be even less comfortable. I'm giving it 5 stars because this host was phenomenal and if you want a place to store your stuff while you go out and explore Fuji then I full on recommend it. If you're looking for a short country visit and you're planning on sleeping well with this as your place of resting, I can't in all honesty recommend it as you may have a hard time sleeping. Maybe we didn't notice extra cushions we were supposed to use but the things laid out for us were rough. I would stay here again for sure but only if I had something extra to put underneath me.
