My place is close to Kensington Market, , Trinity Bellwoods Park, Chinatown, Little Italy, Theatre Passe Muraille and Factory Lab, Khao San Road, Pizzeria Libretto, 416 Snack Bar. You’ll love my place because of its comfortable and cozy charm, the light, the great kitchen, the neighbourhood, & close access to shops and restaurants of Queen St. W. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travellers.
The room is cozy and practical though small and narrow with a high ceiling on the main floor of a charming & cosy house, located at Queen West & Bathurst in Downtown Toronto. The room has a slightly smaller than queen-size bed with a duvet cover. There is also a desk & comfortable office chair, a large bookshelf, narrow set of drawers and hooks on the door for hanging clothes. The room has wireless high-speed internet, hardwood floors and it's own heating vent.
The original part of this house was built in the late 1800's so it has a bit of Toronto history included in its charm. The front entrance is a cedarwood vestibule and the kitchen and sunroom are all more recent additions to the original building. The sitting room has a huge couch that easily fits a long human for an afternoon nap, and the kitchen/breakfast/sunroom area is a spacious spot for a meal or cuppa. There is a hardwood staircase which leads you to the bathroom upstairs. You can feel the history in the house despite it being updated and freshly painted.
Located on a quiet, tree-lined street 250 metres from the heart of Queen Street West - boutiques, restaurants, cafes, galleries, theaters and bars. For more details on what's close by - read The Neighborhood and Getting Around sections below!
Guests have full access to the living room, bathroom, kitchen (gas stove), laundry (washer & dryer), sunroom and back yard/garden - which is very private and a lovely oasis in the middle of the downtown buzz.

I'm always available and happy to help if you need anything from a fresh towel to a tip on where to find a good spot to eat. That said, I won't be too much underfoot as I reside mostly in my "studio" in the back yard detached from the house. Also can speak French more or less and a bit of Spanish. The neighborhood is packed-full of good things. The house is about 300m from the hustle and bustle of Queen St West, where you'll find plenty to eat and peruse. From the house, it's an easy 10 min walk to the infamous Trinity-Bellwoods park which is great for running, walking and picnicing. Heading west on Queen you'll find yourself in the art and design district where you'll notice independent art galleries scattered along the street amongst boutiques, coffee shops and the odd cheap 'n' cheerful take away store. A tram ride down Queen in the same direction will get you to the The Drake or The Gladstone Hotel - local nightspots for food, drink, theatre and culture.
In the other direction is the colorful and bohemian Kensington market, which is a 10-15 min walk through a (different) park and across Dundas st. Here you can get anything from vintage clothing to mexican groceries to award winning cheeses to handmade crafts. Other than the plethora of fresh fruit, veg and groceries available at the market, there is also a bit supermarket 5 min walk away on Queen. You'll also find the Art Gallery of Ontario an 18 min walk away. If you're a yogi, why not take a free introductory class (or ten) at one of the many nearby yoga studios while you stay?

I'm a professional puppeteer/performer/mask & puppet builder who works in film, television and the theatre. After many years of travel, touring the world and living in the big smoke, I'm happy now to be living in the country and mostly working out of my home/studio.
I grew up in the country. So after many years in Toronto, I love spending time at my country home in Calabogie where I can fish off the end of my own dock and hear the loons call.
