Sheffield is a very friendly city and our neighbourhood is particularly friendly with family homes and student houses mixed together. There are good cafes, restaurants and an excellent range of shops close by. There's also a swimming pool, a sports centre and some great parks in the neighbourhood.

Married with two (nearly) grown-up children and living in a Victorian house in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. As our kids think about moving out, we're thinking about renting out... we have now listed a garden flat that we created below our house and occasionally rent out our attic too. I think we are good guests as we are quiet, polite, vegetarian, non smokers (we're not boring, honestly) and have already enjoyed a number of Airbnbs in the UK and other parts of Europe. We hope to travel more over the next few years, see more cities and generally get out more as we've probably been working too hard - I work in senior roles in a number of social enterprise and Julie's a university academic.
