We love living in the Cockermouth area, for its amazing scenery, great walking and cycling, and for the town itself with a multitude of independent shops and restaurants. Our house is situated in a quiet residential area and is south facing with mountain views down the Buttermere valley. It’s a pleasant 10 minute walk from the house to the town centre passing Cockermouth Castle and an art gallery.
We think it’s perfect for holiday makers, travellers, adventurers, and those on business.

The space

Our house is bright, light and airy with a spacious sitting room and an open plan kitchen and dining area. From the kitchen there is internal access to the garage and access to the rear garden. There is also a toilet situated on the ground floor.
The first floor has two double bedrooms and a single room available and a family bathroom.

Guest access

Guests have access to the entire house including use of the garage and private rear garden.

Interaction with guests

Owners live off-site but are happy to be contacted for help and assistance during your stay.

Other things to note

We have private off road parking, a garden with patios, speedy WiFi, secure on-site storage for bikes and other 'toys'. There is also a washer & dryer for your use in the garage. We have no charge for cleaning.

Staying at Michelle and Steve's place is one the highlights of our most recent Lake District visit. The house is super clean and spacious. The kitchen/dining area is full of natural lights even on a gloomy day. The separate sitting room is cosy and comfortable, with a lovely mountain view. Reasonable walking distance from town center. It's a very comfortable stay, really feels like home away from home. 5 stars for everything. Btw, our little one loves the blue rubber duck so much. Thank you!

Michelle and Steve were wonderful hosts and their house is amazing. It is a real home from home. They left us the loveliest note, wishing our 2 year old son a happy birthday and leaving a beautiful plum bread for us to enjoy. The house is set around a little green area which was great for a little space to run around. Two large bedrooms, and a small third make it ideal for a family. The open plan kitchen diner was superb and had a notice board full of instructions and recommendations. The living room was two rooms and had seating in both. It allowed us to watch tv, read books or just watch our son play. So much space and th cute back garden was nice to sit in when it wasn't raining. It's the best air bnb we've stayed in so far and if we're ever in this area again, we wouldn't hesitate to go back here.

We love living in Cockermouth. It's a great place to bring up a family, and we've both lived here for over 25 years now.
Whether you like walking, biking, kayaking or wild swimming, or visiting cafes and browsing shops, the area is fantastic and difficult to beat.
When we get time we love taking a picnic onto one of our lesser known and quieter fells, and then down for a drink in one of our great country pubs.
There are plenty of festivals and events going on through the year, based on food, music and even wool (Woolfest)!
