Brigid is an amazing host, very helpful and full of tips on what to do in Belfast’s The apartment was amazing and clean, its located right next to the main road so getting to the city centre took less than 10 mins. This is was worth all the money.

Brigid’s place is perfect. The apartment has absolutely everything needed for a wonderfully comfortable stay. It is in a great location for exploring Belfast and the apartment is especially quiet as well as being spotlessly clean and very homely - thoughtful touches everywhere…

Brigid's communication was good, giving us loads of ideas of places to visit and things to do and she did check just after checking in if we were OK. She seems genuinely friendly and willing to help, which makes the review below more difficult to write. Unfortunately this apartme…

Response from Brigid:
Oh dear, Mary. I am so sorry to hear of your unhappy visit. I was on holiday myself when you arrived, which was on the heels of two lovely airbnb guests who had left that morning and had only good things to say about the apartment. I do normally check apartments prior to arrival but I have to admit that I was not around for your arrival and presumed (wrongly) that the cleaner had checked everything, so please accept my apologies as our standards are normally very high. I was in two minds about answering but in the interests of other guests, and their reactions to your comments, realise that i must. First off, whatever mold you noted has now been thoroughly cleaned away. - a few minutes with bleach did the job, but in the interests of future guests, the entire bath surround has been treated for any mold and regrouted and the shower door has been replaced so that no one can say it looks grubby and tired. Guests to the apartment will see that the opaque glass is thick and certainly no one could see a person using the bathroom unless they were standing on the window sill looking in, having climbed a flight of stairs and crossed a balcony. There is a fire escape staircase on the other side of the window and the nearest window is a considerable distance away. The house is not overlooked by other houses. None the less, I have now added a black-out blind lest another guest feels sensitively about the glass. When I asked the owner of the Bengal Brasserie about glass bottles being broken at 3am, he said to me, 'Are you serious? Are you having a laugh?' Which indeed they all did. He said.....'Do you think my staff are working until 3 in the morning? Do you know any staff who work until 3 in the morning? Last orders here (as I know myself) are 9pm and the restaurant staff finish at 11.30pm when the place is locked up.' I have no doubt that you were disturbed by staff putting bottles in the bin but I was assured that the staff finish at 11.30 . The owner has assured me that he will ask staff to be more diligent and to leave disposal of bottles until day time as I would hate guests to be annoyed or have their sleep disturbed. The apartment is a lovely, quiet apartment normally. When it was first advertised, I was able to have virtually on premises parking, as I put a cone outside the building for parking so that I had parking immediately outside. Since then, a hospital doctor has moved in next door and she has had a car port built where she can park at the side of her house/between our houses . Another new neighbour directly next door to her then moved in and she has a child with a disability so she now has designed, private parking outside her door. The loss of two spaces beside the house has made it difficult for me to reserve parking but there is always parking to be found further up the street. I am reminded of a recent trip to NY where my brother had to park 3 streets away. Thank goodness, this is not the case in Belfast. If it took you 45 minutes to walk to the city centre, then I imagine you stopped and looked at the shops along the way. I am 65 years old with arthritis and can walk into town in 25 minutes. In comparison to London prices, £2 is inexpensive to get into town on the bus, the duration of the journey changing depending on the time of day and business of traffic but I have certainly made it in 8 minutes. I am sorry that you do not consider £63 per night for a large, fully fitted, self contained apartment to be good value for money and that you felt the apartment was shaby, grubby and tired. Personally, I love this little apartment which is my daughter's rental, as indeed has everyone else who has stayed there. I also have great fondness for my cleaner who works hard in helping me maintain high standards. But, you know what Mary, you can't please all the people all the time, no matter how hard you try. Do continue to enjoy your extraordinary good luck in finding lovely places to stay across Europe for £30 per person per night. That has certainly not been the experience of anyone I know.

The apartment was great. I know Belfast well and so choose the area for convenience. It is within a short walk of bars, restaurants and shops, and only a short journey to the city centre.
