Jazzmamma's funky country cottage is a small house in a secluded area of Shelburne, VT. A nice, quiet place for relaxing yet close to Burlington, VT, Lake Champlain, and Ski areas. Close to local attractions such as the Shelburne Museum/Farms/Winery; VT Teddy Bear Factory; Mt. Philo State Park, walking trails, and the charming historic village green. 20 minute drive to Burlington, VT.

The space

This is my mother's house that I recently inherited, and I am excited to open it up to AirBnB travelers. My mother worked for United Airlines for 20 years and loved to travel and host friends traveling.

Jazzmamma's does have it's funky quirks, but that's what you're looking for right? There's eclectic and vintage art and furniture around the house, the trim around the doors is scratched from a cat, there's marble flooring in the living room and carpet upstairs. But most importantly, it's welcoming and comfortable with it's eccentricities.

Guest access

The whole house is available to you including the kitchen, all bathrooms, two bedrooms, and living room. I've locked doors to a few spaces that I'd like to keep private including the downstairs bedroom, the basement, and a closet.

The outside common spaces are open to use and neighbors are pretty friendly, but please be courteous of the areas around their homes to insure privacy. There is a common parking area and each house is allowed two spots so that everyone has room.

Interaction with guests

If you are at the house, that means I am not! I live in Boston but will be available to communicate with through phone, the Airbnb app, email, GChat/Facetime, etc., for any questions you have.

I do use the Airbnb app to communicate with guests most frequently, so please download before your stay if you don't have it already!

Other things to note

I would definitely welcome longer term guests and give discounts for monthly and weekly rentals. Longer term rentals can ask for access to laundry.

We rented this house for 3 nights in mid-Sept. 2017. On the plus side, the price is good and the location for us was excellent (just 5 min. from Shelburne Museum). The water pressure in the showers was great and the beds were comfortable. On the negative side, we were forewarned the day before we came that the house had a fridge leak 3 months before and the subfloor still hadn't dried out, so there was a musty smell that would go away if we opened the windows. The smell was worse than we anticipated (also had a pet odor) and I let Liana know about it. I told her I didn't feel the house should've been rented in the present condition. Liana was very nice, but being in Chicago, there wasn't anything she could do at that late stage beyond a refund or discount, which wasn't offered. Liana assured me that after we left, she was having a professional come in to assess the problems, so future renters don't have the same issues as we did.

We were in town for a wedding, this location was perfect for our needs. This is really a funky place, many different colors and decor. I have mentioned to the owner that it was not as clean as expected, we were advised to bring our own towels as Liana mentioned that towels were old and thin, yes we were glad we did. Places we visited Shelburne Farms, which was beautiful and nice walking trails. Also, for dining, Barkeaters a great place for food and drinks. Charming town.

Excellent location for visiting Shelburne Museum. Didn,t expect the 4 cottages to be in as close proximity to each other as they are.Beds were very comfortable, but some of bedroom windows had no screen or privacy shade.Uncomfortably warm 1st.night even with fans provided, but 2nd.night very comfortable due to lower day time

Liana's place was a nice base for exploring this gorgeous region for our family. The spaces as described - nothing more, nothing less. A bit musty and lived-in, but clean and cozy enough. Liana was easily reached, responsive and helpful.

Really enjoyed staying at this lovely place and would recommend. It is secluded enough to feel like you are part of local community, but car / walk to local town or short drive to Burlington. Really helpful and friendly neighbours too. Place had everything we needed. Highly recommend for things to do nearby the Shelburne Farm and Burlington bike path.

A lovely, warm, and comfortable house in a secluded cul-de-sac very close to the Shelburne Museum, the Winery, and convenient to everything we needed. The house itself is a little eccentric and personal- not an anonymous motel room, but we liked that too. Highly recommend.

Liana had excellent communication. Everything was as advertised. Nothing more nothing less, exactly the house we were seeking for the long weekend. Highly recommend going to the winery nearby!
