The space
The cottage is neatly nestled in a clearing that is almost fully enclosed by trees to ensure privacy relative to other cottages, yet has a clearing on the balcony side, yielding for a stunning view of the lake, the surrounding lush green plant life & scenery. The cottage is completely detached from the host house & about 80 meters away with trees acting as a barrier for privacy. You'll be able to lounge on the balcony & bask in the sun while enjoying your outdoor BBQ with the utmost amount of privacy. Access to the lake (which often reaches temperatures of 26 degrees celsius (79 F) is just seconds away, & reaching, arguably one of the most private ocean beaches you'll find in nova scotia, is just another 30 minute kayak tour away. Most of the time, you'll be the only one on St. Esprit beach. Check out the guidebook in our cottage or on airbnb for other fun adventures that await you with your next stay.
The cottage has clean well water that has been tested.
Cottage Falcon has one bedroom with a Queen sized bed as well as a couch in the living room that can be used for lounging or as a bed for any additional guests. Additionally, the cottage has Bell Satellite TV with a flat screen, Wi-Fi, mini-fridge, Keurig coffee machine, stove, toaster oven, microwave, balcony with patio furniture, outside BBQ, lakeside fire pit & free parking. There is a 3- piece bathroom with a shower.

A peace and stillness exist in St. Esprit that everyone who visits can recognize & embrace. The population of St. Esprit has significantly decreased from the days where it was once a bustling area. It is now relatively isolated but that is what makes this area so special, & what allows guests to find the peace & quiet they are looking for. Located on the south coast of Cape Breton Island, there is significant Gulf Stream influence in comparison to other areas of Nova Scotia due to its easterly location next to the Atlantic coast. This results in a climate that features significant seasonal lag, with August being the warmest month of the year & February being the coldest..

There are no restaurants, shopping options, gas stations or grocery stores nearby in the area (nearest grocery store & restaurant is ~30 min away in St. Peter's; nearest gas station is about 25 min away in L'Ardoise but with limited hours; nearest shopping district is ~1 hr away in Sydney, NS)

Our resort is located about 1.7 km (as the crow flies) from the Atlantic Ocean. The Atlantic coast side of Nova Scotia experiences some of the mildest year-round temperatures in the maritimes (apart from sable island). Cottage Falcon is situated in the middle of nature, perfect for relaxing & enjoying oneself. It is close to several scenic sites (as listed in our cottage guidebook) that will make your stay a memorable one. Alternatively, guests have their own separate, private space surrounding the cottage where they can relax & rejuvenate.

During your stay

By default, guests will receive the utmost amount of privacy, peace and quiet. If there is an emergency or matter deemed too important for communication via airbnb (ex: unable to enter cottage, hot tub issue or anything where you need immediate help etc), please message & also knock on the office door of the large house (with the red roof) & wait until someone opens it.
For emergencies, I would suggest setting up Wi-Fi calling on your smartphone before you arrive, so you can make calls using Wi-Fi.
