Elfriede's vacation cottage is located in the center of the Upper Franconian municipality of Marktschorgast.
The charming village is located directly on the A9 and is the ideal starting point for excursions in all directions. For example, you can reach Bayreuth with its world cultural heritage, the opera house in about 15 minutes by car. The wonderful Weißenstädter See can be reached in about 25 minutes. Kulmbach or the Ochsenkopf i.F. can also be reached in 20 minutes.
Marktschorgast is also located on the Jakobsweg.

The space
On the ground floor there is a living and dining room with access to a large terrace, a bathroom with shower and the kitchen.
On the first floor there are two double rooms and two single rooms, a small conservatory and another toilet.
(One of the two single rooms is a walk-through room to a double bedroom)

Linens and towels are not included in the price.
However, on request, we offer a linen package for €15.00 per person/stay (includes freshly made bed, large towel, small towel).

Shopping opportunities
Right in the village, there are two butchers, a bakery and a small lottery and stationery shop, which also offers a selection of staples.
Larger supermarkets are located in the Gefrees, 7 km away, in the Himmelkron 8 km away and in the Wirsberg, 5 km away.

Worth seeing and within walking distance
▪The sloping plain and the educational trail slope run between Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg and Marktschorgast stations.
▪The Goldbergsee swimming and leisure complex is definitely worth a visit in summer.
▪At the Stöcksteich there is a beautiful playground, a pub pool and sports equipment for the big ones.
▪From Christophsbühl you have an amazing view!
▪The church of St. James the Elder is a starting point for the Upper Franconian Way of St. James.

Public transport
The train station is within walking distance in about 10 minutes.
