I grew up in a touristic hotspot in the heart of the Alps in Austria. Since then I was confronted with tourism and all of its pros and cons.
Right after school and university I focused on a career within the IT industry which seemed to be my passion since I was a little child. Over the past years as Junior Consultant, Business Development Manager and Head of PM Office within a global IT company I travelled a lot within Europe, Asia and Latin America. Everywhere I went I was curious about how the different cultures are handling the pros and cons of tourism and how they are contributing to and living from tourism.
There was a turning point in my life when I met my wife with the same passion about travel and both coming out of touristic places within the Alps. We travelled to the hot spots of tourism in Asia, Europe and US and our passion about tourism has become the reason to dedicate our future work within this industry.
The family of my wife owns a small guesthouse at the foot of the year-round ski area Hintertuxer Glacier where a lot of families, couples and winter sport enthusiast seek for their perfect holiday experience.
We want to enable our guests to find their ideal holiday accommodation and to experience the hospitality in this region. I even decided to start my PhD in Economics about Innovation in Tourism and teach on a University dedicated to tourism to spread our experience and learn from the leaders in tourism.
This is now our joint passion, hosting in Hintertux and travelling the world.
When I found out about Airbnb through an Australian colleague I was absolutely convinced that this will revolutionize the travel industry and is exactly the way of travel we always looked for on our trips.
That is why we decided to host on Airbnb and to provide our guests this special experience many of them are looking for when booking their holiday. Connecting with each other and learning about the culture while relaxing in the middle of the Alps.
