About this listing

Come stay in our charming DUPLEX. You'll love the location as it's close to fabulous restaurants, parks and 20 minutes from the heart of SLC. Visit beautiful Temple Square, and see a Jazz game. We have a great security system, a camera, a 6' fence with keyless lock for both door and gate. We have a great kitchen with everything you need for a fun dinner. You'll enjoy our comfortable queen beds and our shower with a never ending supply of hot water. WiFi, Netflix, Cable, Internet

The space

This duplex was built in the 1930's by my sister-in-law- LeAnn's - great grandfather. It's been handed down from her great grandfather, to his children, who have lived there to begin their new married life. We remodeled it this past summer, we think it still has it's original charm. We are located near a busy street (9000 So). We've been told by other guests that the road sound cannot be heard inside the duplex. However, if you are a light sleeper, we might not be suitable for you. Upon request, I can provide ear plugs. If you find that I have forgotten to supply something you need, please call me asap and I will do what I can to accommodate your request.

Guest access

This is the south side of the duplex. We identify it by a bright yellow door, the #1 and call it the Sunshine Inn, the other side is the Snowflake Inn. You have your own entry with a code box, so no key is necessary. There is a 6 ft high fence that surrounds the property. It also has a keyless entry to the unit. We will give you the codes and directions the day before your reservation. We have a close circuit security camera, so you can feel very safe. We have a large parking lot, which you are welcomed to park in. Be thoughtful of other guests that have cars and will park in the parking lot.

Interaction with guests

I am available to answer any questions or solve any problem that you may have during your stay. Let me know if there is anything that's not working properly as soon as possible, so I can quickly get it fixed. I live 20 minutes away, so I am not on the premise. Its my goal that you are happy with the duplex and not bothered by something that can be fixed. Let's make sure you have a wonderful stay.

Other things to note

The duplex is off of 9000th South which is a main road and emits road noise, however, it's quiet in the duplex . If you are a light sleeper, we may not be a good match for you. Upon request, I will leave you a pair of ear plugs. Mike, one of our guests wrote "Despite being adjacent to a major thoroughfare, there was no road noise."

Jan was an absolute delight to work with. Super friendly and accommodating. The place is as described and clean. The neighbors can get a bit loud and the large street took a while for me to get use to but it was great having a full kitchen and 2 bedrooms. The place could use some modifying but it was pretty cozy.

Jan's place is less than 5 minutes' walk from Histori8c Sandy TRAX making it accessible to Snowbird/Alta ski bus. No car necessary. The place was in perfect condition and hit all the high points: clean, comfortable, quiet, convenient and safe. Jan's communication is clear and her response time was immediate.

Steve {my husband} and I both grew up in Salt Lake City and love to live here. There is so much to do within an half hour time.

We both retired last year and were looking for something fun to do. We had a construction company for 20 years and have built many homes and office buildings. We are both energetic and sitting around doing nothing was boring. My brother bought this cute little duplex and we set about remodeling and updating it.

We love to travel and meet new friends. In a past life, Steve was an architect. Its so interesting in our travels to see the different styles and details of buildings all over the world.

Steve has been restoring a 1958 Corvette that he bought when he was 16. I can't wait to drive around in it! It's been in our garage for years.

We have been married 34 years and look forward to at least another 20 years together. We have 2 boys and a granddaughter that we raised as one of our children. She has a little girl which we are totally in love with

Family is everything and friends fall right under it.
