A comfortable double bedroom in a beautiful 110 year old house in an historic village surrounded by a stunning sub tropical garden. We are close to the city by ferry - the terminal is a twenty minute walk or a 4 minute drive away. Within two minutes walk are two great beaches, Torpedo Bay on the city side, Cheltenham on the gulf, fabulous walks and views. Devonport has a wide selection of cafes and restaurants. A second double bedroom is available for people travelling together.
Our house was built in 1905 and is a typical New Zealand Kauri villa with a bay window and fireplaces. We are a 20 minute waterfront walk from Devonport village. Auckland City with great shopping, and the Restaurant Precincts of Britomart and North Wharf is a 12 minute ferry trip. Ferries to the islands of the Gulf call into Devonport regularly. A public Golf Club is within a 5 minute drive. Devonport is a great place for an overnight stay, weekend away or an extended holiday.
As guests in our house you will have access to your room, the bathroom, the living room and TV, the verandah, and the garden. The kitchen is available for breakfast, if requested. An iron and ironing board is also available on request. There is an outdoor table and chairs so that you can enjoy our garden and deck. Bikes are available for your use.

I'm a mature woman. I have travelled quite a lot over the years. I am interested in the arts, books, cooking, movies and life in general. We are very interested in renovating and preserving old Victorian and Edwardian houses. We renovated and have lived in this house for 20 years. I love living in an historic village. We live a peaceful casual lifestyle with the best of the city and a beachside suburb. During the summer I am outside and swim, walk or garden as much as possible. I couldn't do without books, the beach, fun, family and the occasional holiday away. I would like to go to Vietnam next. As a host I am available, flexible and respond to the needs of our guests. I would love to share the pleasure of this beautiful place with others.
