Not "Not private": My listing is for a "Townhouse" and that is exactly what it is. A completely separate and very private half of a house. "Complete living space" is Airbnb's wording which simply means that you do not share a bathroom or kitchen and as even she stated, her private bathroom and kitchen "were lovely". And all doors lock from the inside. Not that you really need to worry about that in this neighborhood.
This really turned when I mentioned that she had more than two people staying. She only paid for two and a minimum of four or five slept there and there were even more cars and people during the day. I didn't even ask her to pay the difference but then she started telling me repeatedly what she was going to say in her negative review. She never asked for money not to say those things but I'm not sure why else she would keep telling me about it repeatedly giving me the chance to offer money. Maybe she was just being defensive about having cheated me out of the proper fee for the extra guests but like I said, I never even asked for that. I don't know, but at least some of the things she said, I know are false. I have been renting this unit for 17 years and the only thing people have ever said is that they couldn't believe someone was living in the other half because they never heard a thing. You won't either. And she saw a bee hive hanging under the upper deck and decided to make an issue of that but that hive had been thoroughly sprayed weeks before and was stone cold dead. I would have gladly killed any bees if she had called my attention to them but she only talked about this later and I certainly couldn't find any. Couldn't find any ants in the bathroom either and they don't just stop swarming on their own.
If there had been ants, they would have been in the kitchen where the "two of them" after a two night stay left an amazing pile of dishes with caked on food. I had no idea I had that many dishes in the rental. I would normally never mention this because, it's totally fine. You are on vacation and that's what cleaning fees are for. But in 17 years nobody has come close to the mess they left. And again, they were there only two nights.
She's right that there is no sofa bed. There is a large wrap around couch that extra guests could sleep on and also a self-inflating queen mattress besides the king bed. And yes, the yard guys do come once a month for an hour but not early.
The rental is the bottom half of the house and the pool which is for your private use only is one level lower by a spiral staircase. And as you can see from the photos, even from down there, the view is awesome.
