With three and a half kilometers of extension, Campeche Beach is very frequented by surfers and kitesurfers, due to the characteristics of the sea and wind, and by young people, especially in the region of Riozinho. But it also welcomes several families and seniors. In fact, it is one of the most eclectic and democratic beaches on the island.
The beach starts in the vicinity of Lagoinha Pequena, the southern limit of Joaquina Beach, and ends in the northern corner of Morro das Pedras, at the southern end. Because there are no geographical landmarks that separate the three beaches, you can stroll freely through several kilometers of sand.
The region of Praia do Campeche is also famous for the paradisiacal Ilha do Campeche, located about 1.5 kilometers from the beach. There are several boat and schooner tours, especially to the Island, that leave from Praia da Armação, Barra da Lagoa and Campeche itself. There you will find archaeological sites with cave inscriptions and lithic workshops, with more than 4,500 years and trails.
