Martin's place is somewhere where you can feel home. It's an older building, but the years that it wears gives it a rustic, grounded presence. The location--Uptown--is where Minneapolis' college community tends to frequent. For those wanting to sample some of the town's nightlife, the proximity to Franklin Ave. means only a short (and safe) walk to cafes, restaurants, and bars. For those just wanting to head to bed after a long day of conference-attending (like me), Martin's place is just far enough to provide enough peace and quiet. Martin furnishes the place with clean towels, new shampoo and soap products, and zippy wi-fi, ironing and ironing board, and a list of popular spots around town where you can grab a bit to eat. What I appreciate most, however, was up front and directly Martin communicated expectations for guests. I knew precisely what I needed to do during check-out, when to be quiet, and when I could do laundry. Because you'll be sharing the space with (potentially) a host of other guests--you are booking a room and not a house after all--Martin's directions reminds everyone to be considerate and respectful toward their fellow boarders. Overall, I would enthusiastically recommend, especially if you're looking for a good deal and a great location.

Martin communicated quickly. As other posters have stated, the listing doesn't do the unit justice! It was a great stay!
