You won't need a car. Large, bright room with en suite bath. Main Street, Roundhouse and Mt. Beacon all within 10 minutes by foot. Quiet country scene in the heart of town. Two porches. Convenient stopover to points further north.
Discover Beacon by staying right in town with a knowledgeable and community-engaged host.
Guest room is large, bright (3 windows) and quiet, with a ceiling fan and air-conditioner. The 1/2 bath is attached to the room and completely private.
Everything you need for a few nights is in the room, including clean towels, water, glasses, snacks and extra toiletries.
A full bathroom with a bathtub/shower down the hall and is shared.
*The house is 100 years old but the inside is renovated and new. Please pardon the appearance of the stairs and stairwell, which is not new and being refurbished (totally safe, just not pretty).*
The master BR and en suite 1/2 bath is exclusive to guests. Share the full upstairs bathroom and the rest of the house. Two additional bedrooms are private.
Full use of the kitchen is available only to longer term guests. Short term guests may use the kettle and/or microwave and the refrigerator for storing drinks/groceries.
Interaction with guests
I live in the house per usual and keep to myself. I assume my guests have places to go, things to do, but I am always happy to answer questions and be helpful. If you need anything, just ask.
I am never home on weekdays and often not on weekends. If I know I won't be home for arriving guests, I have a lock box for which I will provide the code.
Other things to note
There may or may not be a dog on the premises - he's crate-trained. The cat is always around. They are both very friendly but you must like pets and their idiosyncrasies to fully enjoy your stay here.
Please read the house manual once you've booked your stay!
This is a quiet area. Respect the neighbors, especially after midnight.
Enter and exit through the front door and always lock it (inside and outside - the door will not stay closed unless you lock it). Keep the key with you during your stay.
Leave recyclables on the kitchen counter. Do not drink anything from the bar, unless it's yours.
Do not touch the thermostat. It is set at a reasonable temp November 1 through April 30. If you're still uncomfortable, ask.
Feel free to use the gas fireplace in the living room (the switch in on the wall to the right), and blankets are plentiful.
Please turn off the air-conditioner when not in use, or consider the ceiling fan instead. Please keep windows closed when the AC is in use.
Refer to the House Manual for further details on location of the room, keys, use of the kitchen, wifi, etc.
If your host is away, then you're lucky to have more space and privacy. That said, all house rules still apply.
