The space

Aceptamos mascotas (perros)

Lovely place in the middle of "nowhere". Yolanda took great care of us and made us delicious meals during our stay, and communication with Niall was very good. The place is as described and showed on the pictures. The garden is beautiful! We can definitely recommend a stay here!

The place was very quite. A great location for those that love this kind of settings. Not far from the beautiful beach Rincon. The night was hot since we went in the summer, there were lots of natural sounds. A true eco lodge setting. Great Dinner and breaksfast were the Hallmarks . We had a great time .

Absolutely speechless! Niall, Yolanda, and the rest of the staff were incredibly accommodating and made us feel right at home. Niall made communication extremely smooth, and easily coordinated our groups meals, dietary restrictions, and even transported us to the beautiful beach. Our stay at the ecolodge was our favorite part of our month long stay in the Dominican Republic. We will definitely be back to this hidden gem again!!

What can I say about La Sangría? WOW! I get chills just to think about the two days we spent there. Its a beautiful well taken care prairie, with wonderlful and friendly people and dogs. I am amazed of the things hidding in the mountains of my beautifull island. La Sangría is a well located treasure almost at the end of La Península, close to Playa Rincon, Las Galeras, and if in the mood for a hike some hidden places that is worth getting tired for. We were unable to visit one in specific, if you can go Cabo Cabron. Nial and Yolanda will help you arrange the hike with a guide. Nial was very nice in arranging some requests we had and Yolanda made sure to make us feel like home. Yolanda is a very good cook, so try some of her dishes, fish was delicious and huge. The cottage was very cozy, well build, hot water, rustic features, dim light, fresh with a lot of ventilation . The common area is very confortable, well equiped with a tv, a collection of movies and wi-fi, I think also cable. Its a magical place. Avoid going in a low rise car, the lodge is off road and is a bit bumpy, but is just half a mile in (at the most), nothing that would keep us from comming back. Thank you for a great experience.

Initially I planned to stay there only for three days, I stayed for 9 and wouldn’t mind staying longer if I could. The location is perfect for discovering other places: 10 min. drive to playa Rincon (absolutely fabulous) and other beaches, 15 min. drive to Las Galeras, half an hour to Samana to see the whales, about 1 hour to las Terrenas. I wouldn’t recommend taking a small car – SUV is almost a must if you want to be flexible and see really nice places. I went to the beach sometimes twice a day, in the morning I was alone there, first tourists were coming around 11-12, and after 3-4 the beach belongs to you again. There are 2 massage tables over there, the quality of massage is surprisingly good, or let’s say considerably better than other I have experienced in Dominican Republic and the price is reasonable. For additional 10 USD the lady will come directly to the lodge. The place is a real paradise for people looking for authentic atmosphere, quietness and pure nature. Territory is huge. Bungalows are spacy, made of wood with the ventilator – it was never too hot inside because of the surrounding trees. Candles and some decoration made some personal touch, beds are really comfortable. You will fall asleep with the sound of jungle and will wake up with the singing of birds, since touristic roads are really far. There only few very friendly local Dominicans living around. I loved the breakfast made by Yolanda- every day something different, considering your wishes, served with a smile. Fresh fruit and smoothies, everything cooked in a healthy way. I always took dinner over there: fish, vegetables, salads, soups- cooked with love and Dominican flair. I also did the tracking recommended by Niall- Cabo Cabron. It’s a nice walk of 22 km in total in the jungle with the guide, picking up for you with the stones fresh and juicy coco nuts, knowing and explaining different things about animals and plants. At the end you will come to the beautiful natural pool in the rocks, where one could swim in the cool water and relax. We didn’t meet even a single tourist on the whole 22 km way- this is a real insider tip. I would definitely come here again. Thanks Niall, Yolanda and Pinino for great holidays.
