We operate sustainably, off-grid with solar power and rainwater, offering a simple and authentic experience for guests who want to relax and connect with nature.

The space
The heart of Rainforest Retreat is a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area, fully equipped with a gas stove, fridge with icebox, cooking essentials, crockery, and ceiling fans to keep the space cool and comfortable.
The bedroom features a cozy queen-size bed and a full-size closet, with an en-suite bathroom and a large walk-in wet room with a hot-water rainfall shower.
Outside, a wide covered deck offers a dining area and relaxed seating which perfect for morning yoga or enjoying a sunset drink while taking in the stunning ocean views.
Guest access
During your stay at Rainforest Retreat, you’ll have exclusive use of over two acres of lush gardens and rainforest, offering privacy, space, and tranquility. A welcome basket of fresh tropical fruit will be waiting for you on arrival.
Guests are welcome to use the snorkelling gear and yoga mats provided during their stay.
A caretaker lives discreetly on the property and is available if you need any assistance.
Wi-Fi is available in the reception area, but we encourage you to slow down, disconnect, and enjoy the peace and beauty of your surroundings.
Other things to note
At Rainforest Retreat, sustainability meets comfort. Fully solar-powered and surrounded by lush rainforest, it’s a peaceful and private escape with all the essentials including fans, lights, a fridge, and more.
Please note that high-heat devices such as hairdryers, straighteners, electric kettles and portable stove tops cannot be used due to our off-grid system. We have a gas kettle, hob and water heater in the villa.
A free airport transfer is included, and our driver can help arrange taxis or local tours to Taveuni highlights like waterfalls, the Lavena Coastal Walk, horseback riding, and the Rainbow Reef. The hill to the property is steep and gravelly, about a 15-minute walk, so we recommend taking a taxi to the shops/beach and out and about. Our driver will arrange this for you.
Shops and great local restaurants are nearby, offering a taste of island life at its best.
