This is one of the few places in the area with free parking.
Kingillie, built in the eighteenth century has lawns enclosed by mature trees and is surrounded by fields with the magnificent Beauly Firth in the distance. The house has a historic feel and is newly decorated with style. It is south facing, bright spacious and comfortable. The tranquil setting is reached by two long private drives. It has easy access to Inverness and Beauly and is in the heart of the Highlands.

The space
Next to our Victorian dining-room is the centre of Kingillie House - the homely kitchen set around the farm table stretches through arches into the sitting-room. The kitchen is well equipped with an Aga, a 4 door cooking range, a gas cooker and in the back there is also an electric cooker, plus two dishwashers. The space is lovely for cosy meals and relaxing on sofas around an open fire. The elegant Georgian staircase with our clan Fraser tartan carpet leads up to several bedrooms each with their own distinctive character. Five of the bedrooms have kingsize beds. Upstairs there is a triple bedroom and downstairs one twin with bathroom opposite. The three newly refurbished bathrooms, one shower-room and separate WC are shared. Enjoy board games or play tennis on the tennis court, set up croquet or barbeque and eat out on our slate garden table. We hope you celebrate your holiday with a feast in the dining room.

The house is ready for your arrival on check in day after 4pm.

Neighbourhood highlights

Kingillie House is in the countryside close to lovely walks, lochs, hills for walking in and seven miles from Inverness. The Great Glen and Loch Ness are a 20-minute drive if you fancy some Nessie-spotting and a visit to romantic ruined Castle Urquhart. Nearby Reelig Glen boasts some of Britain's tallest trees. We suggest a drive to Majestic Glen Affric with its stunning views and lochs and Dolphin cruises to see bottlenose dolphins, seals and porpoises on the Murray Firth. There are public swimming pools and adventure parks including paint balling nearby. We are 40 minutes drive from Nairn beach and Rosemarkie beach both beautiful spots for walking, swimming and picnicking. Cawdor Castle is a beautiful stately home packed with treasures near by.

Inverness with its shops and supermarkets, theatre, cinemas, restaurants, pubs and traditional Scottish music venue Hootananny, is 7 miles away. Nearer still is pretty Beauly village with bespoke shopping (and supermarkets), a range of eateries, and a ruined medieval priory. There are three championship golf courses less than an hour away. I grew up in this glen and love our eighteenth-century house as I hope you will also, we still live here part of each year. You can see from the over-door keystone here, how the house was built by our clan Fraser very soon after Bonnie Prince Charlie’s 1745 Jacobite Rebellion and the Battle of (nearby) Culloden. With my brother, I have set up the nearby Moniack Mhor writers’ centre and Hootananny Inverness traditional music pub. As a Fraser house, Kingillie shares my clan motto "Je Suis Prest" - "I Am Ready!"
