The VIEW!!!! No picture can do the view from the living room, garden, or near by area any justice, it’s just breath taking!!! Steve and his wife are very nice and have a beautiful home/property. This will definitely be a place we stay again! It is outside Portland and would recommend not landing in Portland around rush hour, because it might delay you from seeing the sunset! Food recommendations nearby or on your way out from Portland: - Midway Firehouse Pizza - The South Store Cafe (breakfast/brunch)

So sad we could only stay two nights here:( my boyfriend and I loved this place. This is so far our favorite air bnb. Gorgeous outside and inside, super clean and great space for two people. It's a very safe place even took a morning run around the place for 5 miles. Roads are clean and nice to drive on as well. Not a hard place to find and close enough drive to Portland.

Bald Peak is an extraordinary place to stay. My wife and I booked the location to watch the solar eclipse and we couldn't have chosen a better location. The view is spectacular, above the fog layer so it's warm in the morning & afternoon but is also cool in the evening. The accommodations are luxurious; love the decor and the full kitchen was a big plus. We can't wait to book this place again. Steve & Julie, our hosts, are fantastic people. The pointed out all of the best places to wine taste, shop for food and they made sure we could find everything we needed in the loft to make the most of our stay. Simply, can't wait to stay there again. Cheers, Armen & Shima

Steve is a 5 star host. He was always very helpful and attentive to any needs we may have had. Any communications were responded to in a very timely manner. The views are great, though unfortunately for us they were obscured most of the time by the haze from the wildfires in the pacific northwest and Canada during our trip. Steve has a nice little garden area with even more great views. As far as location goes, it is about a 15 minute drive up the mountain from downtown Newberg. The area is very secluded and quiet, great for a peaceful vacation. The place itself is very nice. The kitchen is sufficiently equipped, including a small range and dishwasher. There is also a good coffee maker and electric kettle. The over-the-air TV gets a few channels, but the internet works well. If you're looking to sit back and watch some shows on vacation, Hulu, Netflix and the like work fine (though there might be a slight slow-down in the evenings). The couch is very comfy in the living room, as is the bed in the bedroom. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review was largely out of Steve's control. Given the typical climate of the region, it is not uncommon to go without air conditioning. Unfortunately, my trip coincided with a rare, sustained heat wave. The sun rising outside the big living room windows is beautiful, but it also means it is impossible to keep the place cool. The typical high during my trip was in the mid to upper 90's. There was nothing that could be done to keep the temperature inside below 85 or 87 during the peak afternoon heat. The lows were low enough to open up the large windows and get the temperature down between 77 and 82 in the morning and overnight, but at a cost. This is the mountains, and there is no shortage of bugs. There are no screens on the windows. I can see where they may obstruct the view, but personally I'd rather have screens than fully unobstructed views if there's no a/c. If you are bug-averse, you have to make a choice. Do you sweat it out in 85 degree heat, or invite the mosquitos, bees, wasps, spiders, flies, gnats and all other manner of insects inside. We did purchase a $20 box fan to help out, and Steve insisted on reimbursing us for it. Steve did everything he could to help, but mother nature wasn't cooperating. Overall Steve's place is great. I would probably book again, unless I was really concerned about another heat wave coming through. Very nice place, and 5 star host.

This place is amazing. It has a great view out of every window. The room itself is extremely nice and modern. It was hands down my favorite place I've stayed at. Steve, the host, is probably the friendliest guy you'll ever meet he's extremely kind and welcoming. I'd definitely recommend this place to other travelers.

If you are looking for a quiet, amazingly beautiful, and friendly place to stay...this is the place! I needed a place for my daughter and her friends to stay the week of her destination wedding in Portland and Steve and his wife were able to help us out. The girls had a fantastic time and loved the location. Every need was met in a friendly and helpful way. You can't beat the location either as you look out the back window of the separate apartment and see beautiful mountain peaks! The flower gardens are incredible and provide a nice quiet place to stroll. Or you can sit in the garden on a wooden covered bench and stare at Mt. Hood for a while. Great place to stay. Don't miss it.
