About this listing
Unwind in this beautifully renovated flat in the heart of Gardens, a hop and skip away from the Cape Town's famous Company Gardens that gives the neighbourhood its name. A quick amble (or $2 Uber ride) will bring you to some of the finest restaurants to be found in the country, while a hike to the top of Table Mountain can start on my doorstep. Welcome to Cape Town!
This first-floor apartment is newly renovated with granite finishing, polished parquet floors and an enclosed balcony space. In the kitchen you will find a four-plate stove top and an oven, as well as a combined washing machine and tumble dryer unit.
The bathroom is beautifully renovated with a bath and shower both large enough for even my lanky six-footer frame, and in winter months a heated towel rail will help ease away those post-shower chills.
In the bedroom you'll find a comfortable queen-sized bed with luxurious hypo-allergenic bedding; there is ample wardrobe space for one to two people.
For the musically inclined an electronic piano awaits in the foyer.
The guest bedroom is guests' private space. The open-plan lounge/kitchen area and the bathroom are shared spaces. Guests are not permitted access to the other room in the apartment.
Interaction with guests
I live on the premises, but on weekdays I spend most daylight hours at work, during which time you'll have the whole apartment to yourself. When I'm there, I'd be happy to help you with any queries you may have or difficulties you've encountered.
Other things to note
A large, unobstructed window opens one floor up over the complex gardens, and since there is a very real "falling out" hazard, the space is not suitable for children.
Check-in and check-out times are flexible, but please arrange this at least 24 hours in advance.
The neighborhood isn't scary, but it is *urban*. Keep your situational awareness.
- No animals permitted
- Quiet nature of complex must be respected.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.
Some of my favourite things include (but are not limited to) long-tailed comets, playing ultimate (frisbee), word plays, shooting stars, solving puzzles, slacklining, board games, starry night, hanging out with cats and meeting fellow quirky geeks.
I travel more than my fair share, and not nearly enough. I've lived abroad (sometimes even successfully) and would like to do so again. I love the word "vignette", I have a huge crush on the Alexander Upstairs Theatre in Cape Town and I liked that bit where Frank Moses steps out of the cop car.
