A cosy and contemporary Shepherd Hut, named Ronald, set in 60 acres of tranquil Cotswold countryside. Stocked with all the essentials, including tasty pastries and hot drinks for breakfast. Horse riding experiences and bicycle hire also available at the farm. Conveniently located 5 minutes drive from Moreton in Marsh, with direct train links to Oxford and London. Durhams Farm is the perfect location for adventurers, explorers and equine enthusiasts.

The space

Ronald is a modern day Shepherd's Hut, kitted out with hot and cold running water and electricity too, so you can relax and enjoy all of the comforts of home, in the great outdoors. Imagine waking up to stunning views of Cotswolds countryside, where the only passers by, are the team of ducks and chickens that live at the Farm.

Ronald has a comfy fitted double bed, with storage underneath and all of your bed linen and towels are provided. The kitchenette is stocked with crockery and cutlery; a kettle; an electric hob; a fridge and a sink. There is private seating outside your hut with beautiful views surrounding. During the winter months, radiators will be added to keep you warm. There is a brand new heated shower room a short walk from the Huts in a blue cabin. Here, guests have exclusive access to a shower, WC and sink.

You will be provided with a welcome hamper inc. milk, orange juice, croissants, jam, butter, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Miniature shampoos, conditioners and soaps are also provided.

Ideal for couples, friends and solo travellers! We have two huts available at Durhams - great for group trips! Apologies, we do not accept bookings for young children (under 10) and/or pets.

Wifi is not available in the Hut but can be accessed on the farm all day. Visit the riding school reception to connect your device.

Guest access

Ronald rests in 60 acres of private land, which you are free to explore (please be careful at certain times ponies will be roaming freely in some of the fields). The Shepherd Huts can be found in the field adjacent to the car park. Please check in with Pat when you arrive.

Mountain bikes (inc safety gear) are available to hire for the day at £10 each. Please check availability if you'd like to reserve them for your trip.

Pat also runs a popular Riding Stables at the farm. Guests are invited to book in for riding lessons and hacks across the countryside, whilst you stay. Check out our website Cotswold Riding for more info.

Interaction with guests

Unless you need us for anything we will leave you completely in peace whilst you stay!

Other things to note

Please note that our postcode GL56 0SZ may take you to the farm next door to us (Grove Farm). We are very close indeed, look out for the Cotswold Riding / Durhams Farm Riding School signs, take that tree-lined driveway and you'll find us at the bottom of it.

Please bring appropriate footwear and clothing - The Shepherd Hut is situated in a field and it can get muddy!

The Ronald Hut is a lovely Place to stay. Shops and pubs aren't too far to get to by car. The hut is lovely and everything you need is provided. The views of the countryside are amazing and early morning sunrise was beautiful as well as stargazing at night. Perfect place to stay for me and my bf as a little get away from busy day life. I will definitely be returning again.

The shepherd's hut was the ideal place to stay for a night during our busy schedule. All amenities as described were provided. The shower/toilet located a short walk from the hut was spotless. We listened as the wind howled outside, but we were cozy inside. The views across the Cotswold countryside were great. Altogether a thoroughly recommended experience.

Lovely private quiet spot in a field at the riding school surrounded by fields and rolling hills. Patricia suggested bringing wellies which were great, not because of mud when we visited, but the long grass was quite wet. As long as people are prepared for the bathroom being about 40m away it's a great place to stay. The photos of Ronald were very accurate. The bathroom was a similar standard - lovely hot water for the shower and handbasin. Highly recommended.

Me and my friend had a lovely girly weekend here!! Visited many of the surrounding towns! definatley need the car to get too and from the hut though! The hut had everything we needed ! Beautiful hut, beautiful settings, would reccommend "the swan" in moreton on marsh for food as was delicious! Was a lovely break getting away from London! We will return!

It was a great experience. Shepard is very cosy, and well decorated. Place is nice, in the middle of a farm. Good to stay for a couple of nights, but not more from my point of view. There is stuff to cook, but there is not a cooker, or even a microwave. The other flaw is the distance to the bathroom. It is too far away to go there in the middle of the night.

A fantastic little hut in such a peaceful location. It's brilliant to wake up and see so many animals wandering around. We also hired bikes from the stables and really enjoyed our cycle around the country lanes. A perfect stay and we've already recommended Ronald to friends and family.

Patricia User ProfilePatricia is a superhost.

The two great loves in my life are horses and the outdoors. 15 years ago, I began Durhams Farm Riding School, which now houses over 30 horses and ponies. I also have a wonderful husband and two (grown-up) children. When we do find a chance to getaway, we like to relax and explore the local area. My hosting style is also relaxed and I welcome guests to book in for horses riding, whilst they stay.
