Nestled in the Los Padres National Forest at the foot of 9,000' Mt. Pinos, comfy, fully equipped 3 bedroom home is perfect for families (it can accommodate 6), and is the ideal romantic getaway. Only an hour from the San Fernando Valley, Chris' Cabin is a world away from the hustle and bustle of LA. This is a convenient and inexpensive way to get away from it all for a week-end. We are walking distance from the village center, with restaurants, general store and clubhouse. Lots of local hiking!
Our cabin is actually a very comfortable 1,000 square foot, two storey house, with a fully equipped kitchen, top of the line appliances, super-comfy beds, broadband Internet with wi-fi so you can use your laptop anywhere in the cabin or on our spacious deck, with its breathtaking view of Mt. San Emigdio. We have always called it our "cabin", because it feels that way, with its beautiful pine paneling, brick fireplace and the shag carpet upstairs. Once we speak on the phone, I will email you the cabin directions, which have driving directions to the cabin, but also contain the two 4-digit codes you will need to access the cabin. The first code is to open the key safe mounted next to the front door. Once you get the front door key out of the key safe and open the front door, you will enter the other 4-digit code in the security panel just inside the door. This will disarm the security system. Then you're in!
Interaction with guests
All guests are encouraged to take a few minutes to go through our very thorough welcome book. It has everything you need to know; locations of everything in the cabin, bulletproof, step-by-step instructions to use the entertainment center, descriptions of local hikes, menus from local restaurants etc.
If guests have any problems, I encourage them to call me at any time. If need be, my caretaker can usually be there to help you within 15 minutes. He can fix anything!
Other things to note
As a guest cleaned cabin, guests are expected to remove their own trash from the cabin. There is a full-service local dump. See the welcome book for full instructions.
- We only charge a nominal $25 partial cleaning fee, as this is a “guest cleaned” cabin. This means the guests leave the cabin at least as clean as they found it. We provide cleaning supplies and a simple 5 point cleanup checklist to make it easy. Like many of the independently hosted cabins in Pine Mountain Club, guests bring their own sheets, towels and pillowcases. We are a non-smoking cabin. If you do smoke, please do it outside, but please put out the butts and dispose of them in the trash. Thank you! Check-in time is after 3PM on the day you arrive, and check-out by 11AM on the day you depart. If we do not have guests arriving on the day you leave or vice versa, we could move these times out by an hour or two.
