Our cozy and comfortable private bedroom in our Victorian cottage home, offers you a wonderful central location to downtown Portland, the Old Port, walking/biking trails, and beaches. We are streets away from USM's Portland campus and 20 min to Freeport's outlet shopping. Portland is a foodie city and the craft beer/cocktail/wine movement is huge here with many tasting rooms scattered throughout the city. We are a family of 3 that live here and work during the day and welcome you to our home. Enjoy your stay with us!

Interaction with guests

We live in the home but work outside of the home. We will respect your privacy but will also be available to you as needed. We are often at work during the day and early evening so self check in through our lock box is especially helpful. A day or two prior to your arrival, I'll send the code and check in instructions.

Other things to note

Parking is free and on the street but by 10 pm your car should be parked for the date of the NEXT day. So if the next day is the 1st, 3rd, 5th and so on, you will park on the odd side, even number days on the even side by 10 pm. Any time before 10pm, you can park on either side. Just make sure if you park your car at our house and Uber in town that it's all set for the overnight. They usually start ticketing at 3am in this neighborhood.

When weather calls for a parking ban, we will make arrangements to get your car in our driveway.

Meg was a fantastic host! We came in super late at night and used the keybox for entry with no hassles. The room was really lovely and the house in its entirety was simply beautiful. The house is in a super nice neighborhood and was easy to get to with an uber. Meg stocked the room with everything you could ever need, toiletries, fabric starch, and SNACKS. I was attending a marathon wedding weekend and those nutter butters got me through the day! She even let me borrow an iron to tend to my dress right before the wedding. This was a fantastic stay and I would definitely stay with her again if I were in town.

Meg had stocked the room with so many items. They had a beach bag, slippers, a keurig-like machine for coffee with k-cups and tea bags, a tv, snacks to munch on while watching tv, and fresh cookies - yum! We arrived late and they let us warm up pizza in their microwave which we ate on their porch sitting on their wicker furniture. And, taking a shower was heaven - feeling the warm water fall over you like rain! Great place to stay!

Our stay here was exactly as pictured. The only issue the whole time was a squeaky bed. Aside from that our stay here was great! We didn't see much of Meg but the room was extremely clean and she offered tons of extra amenities. Meg is a great host and has a beautiful home very close to attractions and downtown Portland.

This airbnb offers super easy check-in with no-issue street parking. The room is stocked with tons of snacks, water bottles, toiletries, and even emergency items like sewing needles and thread or an iphone charger in case you needed one. The bathroom is modernized and has an amazing rain water style shower head!! Oh and the bed is beyond comfy.

We only had a one night stop over at Meg's but it was delightful. The house was easy to find, and Meg gave us instructions for how to get into the house since she was out. The room was very clean, comfortable and bright, and Meg had provided all sorts of tasty goodies which was very welcome as we had been travelling. We managed to chat in the morning before we left, and it made the whole stay very pleasant and homely. Definitely would recommend staying with Meg, the area was quiet and residential, but an easy enough walk into the downtown area. Thank you!

Great place to stay. Meg is an experienced host and her accommodations reflect that. I didn't get a chance to speak much with her, but she was very helpful getting settled and oriented to the neighborhood. Highly recommended.

We are a professional couple who love to get away for weekend trips as often as we can. We have a college age son who sometimes joins us too.
