Waterside Cottage is situated in the unspoiled valley of Glen Deveron, near Aswanley, on the edge of the Grampian Highlands in Aberdeenshire, 1hr drive north-west of Aberdeen and 2hrs south-east of Inverness. Waterside is a comfortable period farmhouse for up to six people by the river Deveron and is an ideal location to explore the wild coastline of the Moray Firth, the Malt Whisky and Castle trails, hill walk, play golf and birdwatch. It's good for couples, solo adventurers, and families.
The space
Waterside is a period farmhouse, restored to a very high standard, on the edge of the river Deveron in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and has a commanding view over the river. Waterside offers very comfortable and well-equipped self catered accommodation for up to six people in three twin bedded bedrooms, with two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen-dining room and a sitting room.
In addition to modern cooking facilities, the kitchen is also equipped with a fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble drier, and a dishwasher.
Electric central heating, firewood and a television are included as part of the package. In the interests of safety, please ensure the fire guard is firmly secured when vacating the living room. Linen and towels are provided.
It really is a wonderful place to relax after a long day and is also equipped with a fixed outdoor barbecue.
Guests should be aware that Waterside is accessed by a footbridge over the river and is approximately 250 yards from the car parking. Alternatively, 4x4 vehicles may (at their own risk) cross the ford if the water is low enough ( Please check with us on water level before attempting to ford the river).
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire cottage and can go for long walks in its surroundings
Other things to note
Remember that guests reach the cottage by walking over a footbridge.
There is also no telephone signal at the cottage, but wireless internet is available.
