Description

Lovely house, part of ancient typical Limburgian farmhouse ±1730. Enjoy the closed court. One, two or three spacious double bedrooms. Completely equiped kitchen. Maastricht, Belgium, Germany nearby. Beautiful hills, ideal for hiking and biking.

Holiday house in 18th century monumental setting for up to 6 people.
Recently renovated spacious holiday house in the neighbourhood of beautiful Maastricht in the village of Gronsveld. It takes you 5 minutes by car to reach the French speaking part of Belgium, 20 minutes to Aachen in Germany, 5 minutes to the truely wonderful area of the Belgium region of Voeren/Fourons. De Cour's name comes from the french 'cour' which pinpoints at the setting of your holiday house at the traditional closed courtyard. Maastricht is often referred to as the most un-Dutch city of the Netherlands. Here the atmosphere is southern, the sun is warmer in Maastricht, a city filled with restaurants and terraces. Many people from France, Luxembourg, Belgium and Germany visit the city to shop and enjoy themselves. De cour is the perfect base to explore the surrounding countries. Liège is the rising star in la Wallonie. Belgium and only 15 minutes by car.

In our village you'll find some shops and restaurants with a very good price-quality balance.

The house can be rented by 2 up to 6 people

We stayed at De-cour as a base for visiting out son who is studying in Maastricht. We really appreciated the very warm welcome from Wiet and Carola: they collected us from Maastricht station and were available for any queries about the local area. Gronsveld is a really lovely village, with good local food shops for basics, and the bus stop for the regular service into Maastricht just nearby on the street. The accommodation is excellent: full of historical character and charm but stylish, functional, and very clean. Special mention for the coffee machine (bean to cup) and washer and dryer!

We received a warm welcome at our arrival. Extremely nice 'apartment', everything we needed was available, even had fresh fruit from the garden. Will definitively recommend to others.

Wiet and Carola were wonderful hosts and made us feel welcome even before we arrived. They went out of their way to ensure that our stay was perfect and they succeeded. They know the area quite well and made a number of recommendations including for the best Indonesian restaurant I have eaten at (Gadjah Mas in Maastrict). The in-village farmhouse itself was impeccable: clean and beautiful with a more-than-functional kitchen that any cook would be happy with. The layout was perfect for two couples with two separate bathrooms with showers and toilets. (would also work quite well for a larger family.) The wifi operated flawlessly and though we don't normally watch television on holiday, I'm sure that worked perfectly as well. The written instructions they provide are very detailed and the introductory walk-through tour Wiet gave us was very informative and also provided an opportunity to ask any questions. The house is located in Gronsveld, only 10 minutes from Maastrict, but a world apart. Quiet and peaceful are the watchwords. The interior courtyard of the 17th century (?) building is a lovely place to sit, enjoy the sun, perhaps with a glass of wine or local beer. The nearby countryside is quite beautiful with rolling hills, apple orchards, and a few scattered operating windmills. The landscape is more typical of eastern Belgium than flat Holland. Aachen is an easy day-trip away. Lots to see in this region. Enjoying a bottle of Ripasso with Wiet whilst discussing life and travel was certainly one of the social joys of our trip to Holland. Will we be back to Limburg? Who knows. But if we do return, it will include at stay at Wiets and Carola's farmhouse. That is a given.

De-cour is a fantastic. The apartment is situated on a pretty courtyard, it is well equipped and has a very homely feel. It is located on a nice street (with parking) in Gronsveld , which is very conveniently located for Maastricht. Wiet and Carola were very friendly and exceptionally accommodating of the needs of our group. I would definitely recommend staying at De-cour.

We had a fantastic stay at De-cour - the apartment was more beautiful and spacious in real live than the pictures give merit for. The apartment is very well stocked and beautifully decorated, we were a party of 5 and were very comfortable. Highlight for us was the charming garden full of fruit trees! Wiet and Carola were great hosts - the are very warm and charming, they made us felt very welcomed. I would highly recommend this apartment!

Hi my name is Wiet and my wife is called Carola. We live in the most southern part of the Netherlands and we run our own advertising agency. We adore the south, the sun and warmth, the kitchen and the wine. We love making trips flying from MaastrichtAachenAirport, which is at a small distance from our home. Besides travelling ourselves we are happy to offer you a lovely holiday home at our ancient monumental carré farmhouse de-cour here near Maastricht in the Netherlands. We would love to show you how beautiful this region is.
