The place is really near to Tokyo Dome, a city attraction and amusement in the middle of the busy Tokyo. Nearest subway station is Suidobashi station, walk around 5-10 minutes from Kenichi's place. Suidobashi is connected to Mita Line and one more line I can't remember. So it is very convenient to go around Tokyo from this place. The house itself is not difficult to find as Kenichi already sent us direction through email before we arrived Japan. Our room is at second floor, with stair access to 2nd floor outside the house. We share a small pantry with other guests (2 other rooms if I am not mistaken), toilet and shower room, and one small kitchen. Although it is shared, during our stay, we did not find any difficulties in sharing those amenities together. The room itself is small, but considering its great location in Tokyo, it really does not a matter. A semi doubled size bed can occupy two adults, with blankets and two memory foam pillows. A quite big standing mirror with clothes hanger is located beside the bed. A small table with chair also available to keep our things. A television and air conditioner is also in the great condition. Towels and hair dryer One thing I adore is the toilet. Since I am new to Japan, I always amaze their toilets. Even more in Kenichi's place, the toilet is seem still new, in great condition, and very clean. As a pregnant woman, I used the toilet very often and due to its cleanliness, I did not mind to go back and forth that often :) Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to meet Kenichi in person due to our schedules. However, we did have a great communication through email before we arrive Japan. I wrote a thank you letter to Kenichi on a piece of paper, but I apologize for writing it on such a not proper paper since we did not have anything else. One more nice thing Kenichi did for us, he left a small gift to us as a welcome gift. It is such a nice touch for us as foreigners. If we have a chance to visit Tokyo again, I will definitely stays at this place again if there is room available. Thank you again Kenichi san, warm regards from Jakarta.
The location was perfect: 5 min ish walk from the JR station; lots of places to eat; close to Tokyo Dome shopping mall; and it's far enough from the main road so very quiet. The bartender downstairs was very friendly and helped me with using the washing machine. Very neat and comfy room. I really enjoyed using the hair dryer in particular! Some sort of ion setting made my hair very smooth! Will definitely come back again!
I stayed in one of the rooms for 8 days together with my girlfriend on a tour through Japan. The amenities, location and service are very good. Other parts of Tokyo can easily be reached by public transport. Kenichi is a great host. He is quick to respond and very friendly. We had a few drinks with him and some friends at his nice bar on the ground floor, which is an undersold perk of this place! On several occasions the bar provided a relaxing place to have a few drinks or a quick bite after an exciting day in hectic Tokyo. The bartender is great too. He and Kenichi are more than willing to help you find your way in Tokyo, and are good for some quality time. In short, great place and even better people. I would definitely book this place again.
Kenichi's guest housing is easily my favorite spot to stay when I come to Tokyo. The room comes with an AC, fan, television, mirror, bed, and full access to a kitchen, shower/bath, and a free drink downstairs. Whether you're someone who likes to socialize and meet new people or someone who likes to trek it alone, this place can't be beat. Just as a note to anyone curious: the three closest stations are Suidobashi (JR), Hongo 3-Chome, and Kasuga. All of them are about 3 minutes away by foot.
