Vaishnavi estate is a perfect retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Nestled amongst the lush greenery of the Western Ghats in Coorg, our coffee estate is a perfect retreat for the nature lover and anyone who needs a break from their monotonous life of the city. It is about 10kms from the nearest town (Virajpet), so its ideal for a getaway and relaxation. Even if you are the touristy type - the place is anywhere from 30 - 70 mins to Madikeri, Golden Temple, Talacauvery, etc

The space

Overlooking coffee plantations as far your eye goes, the wooden cottage is chipped out with relaxation and tranquility. This space can accommodate 4 people easily, both the rooms have attached bathroom. (5th /6thperson - your call!) It has a fine swing for you to enjoy your mornings and evenings.

Our estate blossoms are a great attraction to a variety of birds. The jostling and competition for the nectar from these flowers is a sight to remember. It’s a treat for bird lovers to sip a cup of our plantation coffee and listen to their sweet melody.

Ideal for a group of happiness seekers who like to spend time with nature and relax.

Have recently increased the max number of guests to 6 as we had a lot of enquiries for this. Please note - this property has 2 rooms with queen sized beds. Guests have adjusted in the past either on the beds itself or with extra mattress (provided on request depending on size of group).

Guest access

You can take a hike throughout the estate early in the morning and get a good exercise.

Please note that BSNL is the only network that works well. Airtel and Vodafone too are available but the coverage is spotty.

Wi-Fi: Please note that in case wifi is not available it maybe due to non-availability of BSNL. Please do check with caretaker on this.

Interaction with guests

I (personally) might or might not be at the location depending on the day/month. However someone is always there to help.

Other things to note

Breakfast is provided as part of the package, but for those who need arrangements for lunch or dinner - advance notice is required. Also need to let me know about veg/non-veg preference. This needs to be done ahead of time, as this is not a full time restaurant/hotel - and food would need to be purchased as required. (eg. if the non-vegetarian in you craves the famous pandi curry).

Charge is Rs. 250 for non-veg (Pandi curry on request only)
Rs. 200 per head for veg.

Our guests typically eat out - since they are sight seeing or going for various activities anyways. These are typical home cooked meals - so nothing fancy. (unless you want something fancy - you will have to let us know :).

NOTE: Lunch will be served latest by 2PM
Dinner will be served at 9 PM. If you request a meal and are not able to make it - you will be charged for the meal. Hope you understand - we do not run a restaurant where there is 24 x 7 service. Its a homestay :-)

A lovely estate, ideal for those looking for a quiet getaway in the midst of the misty hills of Coorg. The coffee estate is in a secluded locality about 30 minutes from the nearest town Virajpet. Thoughtfully and elegantly furnished. The two rooms come with a wrap around verandah with a sit out from where one can gaze over the plantation, listen to the birds, or read a book or simply do nothing - if that is possible... Warm hospitality and great food from the caretakers in the next door bungalow - where there is a TV in a common lounge accessible to visitors. WiFi is spotty, mobile connectivity poor...which delectably enhances the feeling of solitude. If that is what you want, you will find it here. Highly recommended.

The estate is a beautiful sight that creeps up on you almost unexpectedly. The location is remote - there are a few shops from where to buy your everyday essentials and Virajpet town is about 25 mins away by drive. The rooms we stayed in are clean and tidy. We two adults and a two year old child and the room fit us comfortably. The help there were always available to serve! Their attitude was nothing short of spectacular! They cooked excellent food for us and attended to all our requests within minutes. Truly a pleasure to have stayer here

Awesome estate, where you get to be truly close to nature. The host and team were responsive and welcoming too. Reaching the place is a little difficult though, with mobile network issues in the area.

This VAISHNAVI ESTATE is a beautiful place for relaxation in green and without pollution environment. We had very good stay at Mridhul’s Property which is about 12km from Virajpet ; a small town in Coorg. We stayed there for 3 nights and 3 days. The guest rooms and owner’s bungalow is on Hill of the Coffee plantation having more than 50 acres land full of Coffee Plantation and other fruit. The location of guest rooms provide excellent view of the nature’s beauty, best for people who loved to read in tranquility or listen soft music. Rooms are well maintained neat and clean. The care taker Ms. Shanti and Ms. Gopi took very good care of our vegetarian meals demands. There is no restaurant or shop nearby, if guest is not having own vehicle, autorikshaw will be called specially from Virajpet village where there are many non-vegetarian restaurant but only one pure vegetarian restaurant. It is suggested that while booking, guest inform what they prefer to eat so that grocery and other provisions can be arranged in advance. It is worth to mention that charges for food at the Vaishnavi Estate is very much reasonable and yummy too !! The property is in bit isolated but very safe area, Reliance, Airtel cell phone not working, Vodafone do work but strength of signal not that good. Mr. Mridhul was too kind to allow us using estate’s landline connection (that too often get total silent = no outgoing no incoming). As a reciprocal good will gesture, we did not use more the landline, simply called once office who informed the number to other family members, so that every day morning and evening we were able to remain in touch with office and family member. From Banglore airport it takes nearly 7 hrs to reach to the property. Mridhul suggested us a private Innova owner residing at Virajpet with whom we travel and he has good information about local festivals, places to visit more ever very good command on steering. Guest are suggested to take chance for lunch at “Tamara Resort”, there restaurant facing waterfall within the complex plus a unique glass floor under which water fall is passing, you can sit or walk on the glass floor. Here are some pictures I shoot at the “Vaishnavi Estate”. Best wishes to Mridhul and Nandini.

It is a great place to stay. Just perfect for a getaway in the midst of the coffee plantation having the most scenic beauty, good rooms to stay in with the host being very polite and caring. They provided us with whatever we asked for, including badminton racket sets to play in the morning! The food was also very good. The home-stay is soooo beautiful that the pictures here aren't enough to do it justice. I would suggest that you should really go and stay there and have a remarkable experience of your own.
