We stayed here over the Memorial Day weekend. I actually wasn't expecting much other than seclusion because the pictures showed blue bonnets, which were long gone. However, it was much prettier than I expected, with wildflowers all over. Our cabin was right next to a meadow where horses would show up all the time, it was very scenic. Too bad we're not allowed to feed them. The cabin also was completely fenced in as described, so if you have a dog that strays you don't have to worry about them getting out of the yard, unless they jump the gate, which isn't that high. There were a couple of things to watch out for. The worst thing was the grass burrs, there were a lot of them in one of the cow pastures. If you have a dog you'll need to take booties. There weren't nearly as many when we kept to the trails. Also, as another review noted the upstairs has a low ceiling, if you're really tall or claustrophobic it's not the place for you. The shower also felt somewhat confining. Finally, you can hear road noise from the cabin, though that seems to be less of a problem at night or if you take the trail to the inside of the ranch. Overall though, this was a great place for a quick getaway from Austin.

The cabin was the perfect place to get away from the city for a weekend! The ranch is gorgeous and we loved hiking on the property and waking up to see longhorn grazing in the front pasture. It's a quick 10min drive into Bastrop if you need groceries etc. and the cabin has everything you need to be comfortable. We only wished we had time to stay longer!

The cabin was great for a unique, remote getaway....We were attending Round Top during the day, so we didn't get to really enjoy the cabin like we should have....

Thanks for visiting the 9E Ranch. Come back soon after the bluebonnet seeds pop so we can mow and yard looks neater. Thanks for visiting.

We had a great time in this little cabin. Beautiful grounds, cozy housing, lots of nice little touches to make it feel comfortable. We brought in a few of our meals and saved money and effort making use of the kitchenette instead of going out... the delicious muffins and cookies made that an even more attractive option. One thing I might warn against - larger guests might be uncomfortable here. The shower is tight and the ceiling is low in the upstairs loft. It wasn't an issue for us, but if you're big and/or tall it could be a point of frustration. Overall, we loved our time here and would absolutely come back. Thanks for everything!
