This rain forest cabin was the absolutely perfect place for my wife & me to stay in. We wanted to spend a day at the Volcanoes National Park and it just so happened that Michelle's cabin is very close to the park. We spent two nights in the cabin and wished we had spend more time there. The only thing that was a bit annoying was the cold weather [especially for two puertorriquens ;-)] but Michelle made sure to have a functional heater in the cabin that we could use. On that note, Michelle was a great host! Her tip of having breakfast at the Volcano House was on point. We liked it so much that we had dinner there as well and got to watch the volcano's night glow in all it's beauty. Additionally, she made sure that we had a delicious cup of coffee in morning before heading out to the park. We are deeply grateful for her kindness and the opportunity to stay at this amazing place!

Thank you Michelle for a great stay in your rustic, chic bungalow! The restaurant suggestions were great and we would definitely stay there again.

Michelle was an exceptional host, in an exceptional cabin/shed! She had thoughtful touches right from check in, tips for dinner and hiking, and an electric blanket for chilly nights. If you are in the volcano area, look no further- this is THE place for a perfect rainforest experience. You wake up to the sound of rain and birds chirping- magical!

Michelle was very welcoming and accommodating; she even had some homemade baked goods waiting for us! The cabin was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed our stay there. It was a little cool, which was to be expected, and Michelle made sure there were enough blankets to keep us warm overnight. The cabin was rustic and different, but a great way to experience Hawaii. The cabin is located close to the village of Volcano and Volcano NP, but tucked back into the rain forest. You certainly have to know how to find it, but we didn't have any trouble using (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps. One last note: the water in the cabin is captured rain water, which is great (it rains a lot!) but if you aren't used to it, it's not recommended to drink. Michelle explained all this, and we were comfortable with it, but some folks might want to bring extra water.

This was a great base for exploring the park. After traveling on Oahu and through Kona, staying at this peaceful cabin in the rain forest was a nice change of pace. Michelle was unable to be there while we were staying, but she still made us feel welcome. She arranged for a friend to show us around, and there was fruit and banana bread waiting for us. I'd love to stay here again if I find myself on the Big Island.

Really great place in the rainforest! Loved the peace and quite and coffee in the morning. Was only 5 minutes from the park and corner store. Michelle was really cool. Will stay here again next time in Hawaii.

Great location, cozy cabin, and a welcoming host! We loved the time we spent at this cabin in Volcano. Wonderful being so close to the national park, and Michelle provided some pro-tips for what to see/do around the area.

Hi, I love the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in my "back-yard". Its a great place to explore. I have two dogs, love to travel, and have plenty of adventure at work as a wildlife biologist too.
