The space

The cabin was built in summer 2017 and is the only one of its kind in the Saimaa Lake District. What makes it very special is that the building logs come from the region around the Arctic Circle, where they have grown for over 500 years.

Please read through our entire cabin description carefully so as to avoid unjustified criticism later.

The cabin is suitable for one to four people (2 adults + 2 children) and conveniently located by the lake. Both the exterior and interior have been designed in a style typically found only in Lapland.

Running drinking water. Sauna, shower, WC, kitchenette, fireplace and a big terrace under the same roof. The double bed is generously sized with dimensions of 2.05m x 1.60m. For details, please refer to the photo gallery.

When assessing the value for money for your stay at our cabins, please take into consideration that 33% of the rental income goes directly to the Finnish tax authorities. In addition, the costs for utilities, snacks and drinks, and the hosts' portion of the Airbnb service fees amount to at least 25%.

Furthermore, no other listing in our region offers such an extensive all-inclusive package as ours.

Lake Puruvesi is one of the cleanest lakes in Finland and has very clear, drinkable water.

Gracious and spirited host. Beautiful cabin close as can be to the pristine lake. Untouched forest off to the side of the cabin. Stupendous sauna. And Kerimaki, nearby, we found to be an unexpected delight as well.

As an experienced traveler, I have been to quite a few cabins all around Finland, but this Kelo Cabin in Kerimaki is simply the best. There was basically everything you can ask for in terms of luxurious and modern equipment, but still, it was very traditional and very rustical cabin, which provided me with the connection to nature. I especially admired the perfect combination of old and new, which enhanced my experience even more. I especially enjoyed a magnificent view from the window right to the lake and this luxurious sauna. The surroundings of the cabin are simply breathtaking. It is located on the half-island and you can walk through nice Finnish forest and enjoy this amazing scenery. This designer cabin is something very special and it offered the excellent value for the money. Regarding the host, everything was very smooth and welcoming was very warm. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! I am looking forward to visiting this place again.

Sari's place is amazing! Very beautiful location, right by the lake. The cabin itself is also really nice and comfortable. Luxury and nature combined! Sari was really friendly and provided us with anything we needed during the stay. She also gave some good recommendations for our hiking trip. I would definitely recommend!

As the last time, my arrival was without any complications. The host welcomed me warmly and showed me the newly built Kelo cabin. I was stunned by the amazing cabin. The sunset was right on the large terrace while arriving and was shining through the kitchen window. That was not the only highlight. While looking through the inside of the cabin I was taken aback by the amazing atmosphere the Kelo wood was providing. It felt like magic exploring it. The Sauna with the oven exceeded all my expectations, one of the best Sauna's I've been to. On the next morning, I woke up in the comfortable bed to the sunrise over the lake. To wake up properly I took a swim in the lake. It's great to be in the clear water 20m after stepping outside the door. While enjoying the early morning sun on the terrace I was making plans for the day and decided to ask the helpful hosts for some tips what to do before leaving again. They explained me all the various possibilities I had, e.g., daily trips, Kayaking or taking a boat tour from their jetty. I decided to go to pick berries. After a few meters, I found a great spot and got enough berries to enjoy them on another day as well. I spotted some common mushrooms as well, which could be picked around this time of the year. Checking out was as easy as checking in, without any problems, and with a warm hearted come again I drove away. I can only recommend this place for everyone traveling to the Saimaa region. The newly built cabin is very comfortable, luxurious and well designed, it allows to enjoy the sunrise and sunset without moving around and the price/quality ratio is more than on point. Waiting to go there again.

We spent really great holidays in Finland. The house is amazing, with a private sauna and a jetty. It is very comfortable, traditional and modern at the same time, and very clean. It is also quite big. We were looking for a very peaceful moment in the finnish nature, and we were very happy in this house on the lake, with a roar boat to discover the insels around. The situation in the area of Kerimaki is great too, because it is close to Punkaharju and Savonlinna, which are interesting and beautiful places to visit. Also, Sari and her family are very welcoming. They are very friendly and it was a pleasure to discuss (in English and in German) with them. Our one-year-daughter looked sad when we left, since she enjoyed Sari's company very much. For all of this, we really recommand to spend holidays in this house.

Before arrival was a perfect comunication with Sari. All their family recieves us and explained us everything. The cabin is brand new. It's amazing and spectacular. It's even better than in the photos! The cabin is perfect for a couple to relax. Everything you need Sari will be there. They invite us to a special barbacue that was our best experience in finland. We recommend it with no doubt.

This place is a real jewel and the stay in the Kelo Cabin was clearly the highlight of our Finland trip. We loved the cosy atmosphere, the silence surrounding the place and not to miss: the sauna with a dip in the refreshing lake, accessible through the private jetty. The Kelo Cabin is new, tidy and very well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The next village is easy to reach, e.g. by bike in approx. 20 min while driving through scenic landscape. We used the wide selection of sports equipment provided by the hosts such as canoe and bikes and enjoyed the excursions in the surrounding a lot. The equipment is in very good shape and the hosts are always pleased to give advice on where to go and what to do. We furthermore got spoiled by Sari with pastries and we spent a very enjoyable evening with her and her family in their BBQ hut with salmon cooked over the fire - what a real Finnish experience! We fully enjoyed our holidays at Kelo Cabin and hope to come back one day soon!
