We're a 30 minute drive to Charlottesville/UVa, featuring sporting events, art, and culture. Our area is full of history, family-friendly activities, wineries, great views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and opportunities for hiking and kayaking. We have horses, chickens, and dogs if you're an animal lover, as well as plenty of rustic charm. We provide coffee, tea, bottled water, and snacks 24/7, and breakfast treats in the morning.

The space

Your room is large and includes a double bed with a feather bed topper. There is a love seat that pulls out to provide an extra bed, stocked bookshelves, a work table, and even a woodstove in case you'd like a cozy fire.

Your bathroom and shower are private. The shower is in a separate room from the toilet and sink; this provides plenty of maneuverability for our guests who require accessibility and also allows two guests to get ready at the same time. The shower room also includes a washer and dryer which you are welcome to use. (Please note that we may need to come into your space to use the washer and dryer ourselves during your visit.)

Our home is wheelchair accessible and we have grab bars adjacent to toilet and accessible shower. We have a shower seat to use as needed.

Guest access

You're welcome to use the kitchen, living room, the fire pit and pergola area in the front yard, the pool (Memorial Day to Labor Day), and the hot tub. Also, in summertime you're welcome to borrow our two guest kayaks to paddle the Rivanna or the James, and we will arrange drop off and pick up for you if at all possible.

***NEW***!! We have just added a gas fire pit next to the hot tub to make the winter nights cozier! Be sure to bring your swim suit!

Interaction with guests

I will be more than happy to help you learn about the area amenities! We have several brochures for local eateries and attractions stored in the guest book.

Other things to note

I have dogs who live outside and one who spends the evening sleeping in the living room. Feel free to pet the horses or offer them a treat.

Please understand that this is a working farm and while we strive to keep the inside of the house clean, the backyard area is going to be muddy, dusty, etc and there are animals out there--we think that's part of the charm!

The room was much larger than expected, everything was clean and comfortable. Everyone was very friendly, it was a pleasure to stay here, even if it was for only for one night!

Quiet, private room with comfy bed and A/C, exactly as promised. Lin and her family made check-in and check-out a breeze, and were very warm, friendly and generous in sharing their thoughts and advice about the CVille area. With a beautiful setting, convenient parking, and coffee and breakfast provided, this was a great stay. Thank you so much for having me!

What a fantastic stay! My fiancé and I had been traveling down the east coast from city to city and Lin's place was the perfect wooden retreat to wind down at for a night. Her family has truly thought of everything in regards to proper hosting and offers everything you could possibly need from bathroom amenities, a full continental breakfast, local food and sightseeing recommendations, and even your own personal use of their kayaks! Best of all, her and her family were just just a pleasure to talk to. I highly recommend a stay at their home. Tip! Although Lin offers an unlimited plethora of juices, flavored coffee, and hot coco - bring a bottle of bubbly or a six pack to make your stay extra indulgent... and then take it outdoors to the hot tub or pool and sip alongside the frolicking horses and chirping cicadas in the fading forest twilight!

Warm welcoming hosts who provided a spacious, wonderful space for my daughter and I during our extended stay. Very comfortable and quiet. The coffee was just what I needed after a very restful sleep. Thanks for making us feel so welcome!

Loved the cozy yet spacious room, calm country setting a world away from the metropolis of DC, and proximity to restaurants and sights of Charlottesville and the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway and Shenandoah National Park. Lin and Dave offered kind hospitality and enjoyable company. This is a good place to stay.

My husband and I LOVED our stay with Lin and Dave! Prior to our arrival, they gave us recommendations on local wineries and historic spots to visit. When we arrived, we talked like old friends over a bottle of wine. They are interesting and a lot of fun! The next morning, Lin didn't have work so she made us breakfast and then showed us how she does the farm chores. We had a great time with Lin and Dave and definitely enjoyed our stay!

Lin and Dave are the friendliest people you'd ever want to meet! They made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed our visit to Fluvanna County very much. Their basic facilities were just what we expected and it turned out to be a great weekend away for us.

Nice to meet you! I'm an elementary school teacher. My husband and I own a farmette carved out of the woods with a few horses, chickens, and dogs. Our recent college grad lives at home with us and cares for the animals. Aside from my family and animals, the most important t…
