Located right on Main St. Montgomery, you’ll love our place because of its quaint Vermont country atmosphere.
The Barn has been lovingly renovated and updated while preserving and emphasizing its old farm charm.
The property has plenty of space and is good for families (with kids) and big groups.
Come experience a charming and relaxing home with a distinct Vermont flavor.
Just minutes away from Jay Peak and right on Main Street in Montgomery Center, this home is a short walking distance from a supermarket, restaurants, Trout River, and local bars to help you relax after enjoying your favorite Vermont outdoor activities--such as hitting the slopes, hiking, fishing, etc.
The home has been lovingly renovated and updated while preserving and emphasizing its old farm charm. Come and relax while you admire the work of a master carpenter throughout the whole house, from its hand made winding staircase to the wooden home made cover plates.
The kitchen is fully stocked with nice assortment of pots and pans as well as plates, glasses, and silverware. There is also plenty of counter space if you feel like cooking. If you are not serious about cooking a meal, there are a number of options just a few steps away at The Inn (right across the street) or at Bernie's just down the street. You may, if you prefer, drive to The Belfry just up the mountain. Either way, we will leave some bottled water and other goodies to help you get settled. We may at times leave some fresh eggs from our free range chickens but this depends on the girls doing their work at home. For your convenience, the kitchen is equipped with a DW, LP oven, electric cook top, and a microwave. There is a spice rack, a professional coffee grinder if you prefer to bring your favorite flavor of coffee beans, and a coffee maker.
The home has 3 bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The Master has a queen size bed and a twin on full bunk bed. The room is separated from the other bedrooms for some privacy. The next bedroom has a queen and a twin. The third bedroom has a queen bed and a day bed. There are two futons and a sofa bed for additional guests. All bedrooms have closets.
There is plenty of heat during the cold months. The Barn has a Rinnai heater and three additional propane fireplaces--two of them being Vermont Hearthstone Gas fireplaces. These last two are hand made right here in Vermont and are beautifully crafted with a marble surrounding.
The larger living area upstairs includes a Smart TV, cable/wifi, and a XBox One game system. There is also exercise machine available for your use.
There is a dining room and also a formal dining room for your convenience and comfort. The formal dining room boasts a 12 foot high stained glass window sure to impress your guests.
We welcome small to medium size dogs. We prefer the hypo-allergenic dog breeds. Please be advised that there is a $100 pet fee payable upon arrival.
The full bathrooms are located one on each floor. There is a laundry room on the main floor as well.
We know you are coming to enjoy the town, but we also know you come to enjoy the outdoors year round. For that purpose we provide you with a large mud room for all your gear with plenty of space to secure your equipment away from the street.
While we continue to improve the house, we feel that the home will fulfill all of your needs but we welcome all suggestions to make your stay more pleasant. There is a binder in the kitchen area with local information for your convenience as well as general house information and rules. We encourage you to please help us maintain the place well kept for the comfort and convenience of all guests.
Please keep us posted on any special events.
You may access all parts of the home with the exception of the old barn portion. The unfinished section leading to the deck out back is allowed access only in the case of an emergency. Please be careful not to allow small children into that section as it is being worked on to add extra space to the Barn.
Interaction with guests
We are local and will be happy to assist you with any concerns or questions. We will leave a binder with all the pertinent information.

We are are not your typical VT couple.
Jill grew up right here in Montgomery and Rafa in El Salvador.
We met at BYU and after graduating, we have lived in many places from California to Puerto Rico but we have now settled down and will stay in our beautiful VT. We are both very active with coaching sports, school, and the community--mainly Scouting. We both love and cherish our elderly parents and are very involved in our kids upbringing.
