House - Private room · Beryl Rd, Hammersmith, England W6 8, United Kingdom

The Space

We are providing a large double bedroom and will suit either a couple or small family travelling together.

This is for a bedroom in our 4 bedroom house that we currently live in.

Our aim is to make your stay in London as comfortable and as pleasant as possible and that you take away wonderful memories of your stay and visit with us! We hope to be able to point you to the best foodies places, the unique markets and even the gems in the touristy spots.
If you are not here to sightsee but are looking for a temporary home whilst you set yourselves up in this lovely city we now call home, we hope to be able to point you to all the various neighbourhoods in London (as between us, I think we've lived pretty much all of London!) and provide you with as much guidance and assistance as you wish.

The room is of good size and there is a shared bathroom (with a shower overhead for those who like their showers) for guests.

The room has an abundance of natural light, overlooking our small patio garden. It is simply furnished with a double bed and have clean and comfortable sheets over them.

The loft bedroom has a queen sized bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers and an armchair with footrest to sit and relax at the end of the day with ample space for luggage and all your shopping that you might have. There is also a fold out sofa/futon in the room for a child whom is travelling with their parents in this room. We can also provide a travel cot if needed.

Breakfast of various teas, coffee, cereals, pastries and sometimes homemade cake plus whatever that is in the fruitbowl is always available for you to help yourselves.

We do not provide to guests any cooking facilities and use of the kitchen as it is on a bed and breakfast basis we are providing our rooms for rent. However, you are welcome to help yourselves to a hot drink if you wish to use the kettle or microwave for heating up a ready-meal.

There is wifi (internet connection) in the house and will be available for use by the guests if they bring along their gadgets.

Please note that check-ins on a weekday are after 6:30pm and at the weekends we are more flexible with timings and check-outs on a weekday are before 9am and again, at the weekends more flexible but we hope to get back the room by noon for housekeeping.

If you are wanting to check-in or check-out outside of these times, please do enquire first. Do not sulk if we say no or ask for our keys back in the morning as you've read the rules; so play by them please!

We hope the unique position of our home will allow you to explore London to it's fullest without having to fork out a premium for staying right in Central London as we are just a 5 minute walk to either Hammersmith or Barons Court station (Zone 2, Piccadilly, District, Circle and Hammersmith and City line) - perfect for sightseeing in the capital.

5 minutes walk to Queens Tennis club
10 mins tube to Harrods, V&A and the Natural History Museum
10 mins tube to the world renowned Kew Gardens (for the garden buffs)
10 mins tube to Portobello Market/Notting Hill
15 mins bus ride to Westfield Shopping Centre
15 mins tube to Green Park/Mayfair/Picadilly Circus
20 mins tube to the British Museum/Trafalgar Square/National Gallery
35 mins tube to Tower of London/Tower Bridge
40 mins direct tube to Heathrow Airport

Finally, the £300 security deposit held on your credit card is to cover the lost/no-return of keys. The reason why it's such a high amount is that it includes the cost of changing the locks - which for our security sake, will be done if keys have been lost or have not been returned to us (even if later returned at a later date).

Guest Access

Guests have access to their bedroom, the guest bathroom (shared with our baby and nanny) and downstairs WC and can use the kitchen to make a hot drink or the microwave to warm up some ready meals but not use the kitchen for any cooking of any sort.
We also provide the use of our laundry room for longer stay guests (please ask before using!)

Interaction with Guests

We also aim to be home to welcome our guests and they are free to ask us any questions or queries they might have regarding London and the neighbourhood.
We might not always be present when they leave.

The Neighbourhood

The neighbourhood is extremely convenient for someone like me who doesn't drive as I am never more than one hour away from anywhere in London that matters to anyone due to the amazing transport links we have available.
The river is a mere 5 minutes away and that provides for a very relaxing riverside walk especially during the lond summer months and there is also a children's playground just across the road.
My most favourite green space is Bishop's Palace and Bishop's Park which is a 15/20 minute walk away and that almost does not feel like you are in Central London.

  • This was my 2nd stay and it was just as lovely, if not, even more peaceful and comfortable this time. The guest room on the top floor has some natural light from both windows and a skylight. The bed is super comfortable and the whole ambience is simply relaxed and cosy. I look forward to a return visit.

  • How lovely it was to be able to rest in a this peaceful atmosphere! We felt warmly welcomed.
Eilinn and yoon are a super cute couple, easy going and friendly. And it was so much nicer to be in their house than in any impersonnal hotel in town.

  • We had a very good stay with Eillin and Yoon for 4 nights during out trip to London. The house locate in West end of London which is a quite and safe area to live. Few minutes walk to tube and bus station. The house itself is in very good condition, clean and cosy. Our room was at the top floor, spacious and bright. The hot water and shower system is powerful, that's all you need after a long day walk.

    Thank you Eillin and Yoon.

    Everything perfect!

  • I had a great time staying at Eilinn and Ong's home with my two sons who were both under age 5. They loved climbing up all the steps to the loft bedroom and saying hi to the baby when she was in the kitchen. The apartment is very modern and clean. I would just note that the front reception area has now been converted to the baby's play area but the loft bedroom was large enough for my son's to play in and keep themselves occupied. The location of the apartment is very close to the tube and buses with multiple lines which makes it very convenient. Also for guests with kids there are nearby play areas and parks for the kids to enjoy. I want to thank Eilinn, Ong and their live-in nanny for allowing us to stay there, for being patient with having two young boys in the house and for allowing us to have a wonderful time. I am hoping that the next time I am in London we will be able to stay there again.

  • Beautiful home and hosts! The Loft/Room is beautifully furnished, and very spacious! Eilinn & Joon were also very helpful with tips and advice on places to eat, etc. This is truly like a home away from home!

Eilinn/Joon, thanks for a great stay!

  • Very clean, cosy and comfortable loft room in an ideal location (for me), just a short stroll from Hammersmith tube. Very lovely hosts and a peaceful location. Highly recommended.

  • Eilinn and her family are super great hosts! Their place is spacious & clean, with our own bedroom (spacious enough to place our baggage) and bathroom. A very nice kitchen is also shared with us. Yes, b&b means breakfast is provided, nice breads / croissants / homemade cupcakes were provided. Location-wise, their place is just at a walking distance to Hammersmith station, which is a very convenient station lying across 4 tube lines. Eilinn also gave us some good trip advice when we were uncertain on our routes. We'd definitely stay at her place again when visiting London next time.

  • I had a great time in Ong & Eilinn's house although I didn't talk with them too much. An easy and relaxing conversation at breakfast time is interesting, and I really enjoy the atmosphere with this family. I would like to thank Ong & Eilinn to provide a very cozy and quiet place to stay. Everything is good and I strongly recommend this great place.

  • I stayed in the top loft flat in August 2013 for a week. I am a clean freak and can confirm the room was spacious and clean. The bathroom is shared with the nanny and the lovely couple that run this place have recently had a baby, so there may be baby paraphernalia (eg big yellow plastic blown up duck bath) lying around the bathroom which is no big deal - you just have to unhook it to bathe and hook it back on after you are done. I was out during the day and came home to sleep only in the evenings and can confirm the flat was very quiet during the night - the baby was amazingly well behaved during my one week stay. As a result of my hours out of the flat, I saw the nanny more than the hosts, but on the rare occasion I did bump into Eilinn, even though it was late at night she was very kind and I was fortunate to be able to sample a baked dessert she had thrown together earlier that day (she is cordon bleu trained). I would recommend this place and return to stay without any hesitation.
