Close to restaurants, dining, family-friendly activities, and public transport. Casa Nido (nest).. lots of light and plants. Close to Centro, a flat 20 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride. The bus comes from and returns to Centro turning around about 20 steps from my street door. The street door is separated by a landscaped area between it and the door into the house maintaining tranquility.
Less than a 5 minute walk to Ancha San Antonio with its shops, cafes and restaurants.

We very much enjoyed our stay at The Nest. The house and gardens were quaint and lovely. Charles was a great host and showed us around a little. As first timers this was really helpful. We walked almost daily to the local organic market and even to the Jardin a couple of times. Cabs were easy to find and very reasonable. I can definitely recommend The Nest.

Great house very close quite neighborhood .Charles was a great host and easy to communicate with we will definitely be back

We had a fine stay. The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in the southern part of San Miguel and is very cozy, with lots of plants, light, and a nice garden in back. There is a well equipped kitchen, the bed was comfortable, great Internet, and very clean. Its about a 500 meter walk to the coffee shops and restaurants on Zacateros, but the No. 7 bus line turnaround is less then 20 meters away..That line will take you right to the Centro or connect to the 4 line which will take to you to Comer supermarket. This is ideal place for a single or couple looking for a budget but quality San Miguel stay, away from the hustle and bustle of the Centro but still with good fast public transit access.

Conde-Nast Traveler named colonial-era San Miguel Mexico’s prettiest city. With its narrow cobblestone streets and romantic 17th century Centro, it’s perched over 5,000 feet up in Mexico’s central highlands (the bahio), under 200 miles from Mexico City. This cozy “bird’s nest” has a luscious, large bed with delicious linens from which to watch the white-winged doves in the back garden; a little office, living room, and outdoor and indoor dining areas for two to four. The kitchen is perfect for experimenting with the many cuisines and cooking classes available in San Miguel. The Netflix television presents a vast array of programming in English, Spanish, French, and subtitled – perfect for brushing up on your Spanish. The host, Charles, may take you to the big Tuesday market up on the hill, and drop you by La Comer, the huge supermarket, for your basic supplies. The main drag, the Ancha, is right down the hill, the 5-cent bus turns directly at your doorstep, and it’s a lovely 20-minute walk to the Jardin and Centro. Noted restaurants and bars are scattered throughout town, and the daily organic market on the Ancha (9-8) offers restaurants, prepared foods, fresh cheeses, and all things delicious on three floors – and English-speaking help. In 2008, UNESCO named San Miguel a UN World Heritage site. Bottom line: this is the perfect spot for burrowing in for a cozy vacation, and setting bravely out to explore the lively Mexican cultural landscape.

I used to travel but not so much anymore. I was in San Miguel 9/11 when the Twin Towers were attacked. Went back to Austin, loaded up my stuff and came back here. This is home. I enjoy the slower pace and the kindness of the Mexican people.
