We guarantee a soulful experience and a peek into the spirit of the old Cochin. The Colonial Quarters is a cottage built by our dad - the late P.P. Paul (1st Jan 1910 to 30th Jan 1985) - may his soul rest in peace, one of the pioneers of Neo-Cochin shipping industry. All the main attractions at Fort Kochi are ten minutes of cycling distance away from our cottage. You can enjoy the heritage walks and come home to tranquility. We will send you back with lots of warmth and interesting stories.

Jessy's place will rank as one of the top three places in which I've stayed. Jessy, her sister and her sister's husband are all very nice people who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. She was always available on phone if we needed advice and she never complained even once. The location is quiet and residential but we only had to travel for about 20 minutes to reach a livelier neighbourhood. Jessy also makes great breakfast and both the days we stayed there she served us Kerala specialities without us requesting or charging us extra. I would highly recommend staying at Jessy's place for the comfort, friendliness and the warmth of the people there. I have no complaints.

I cannot fault the experience we had staying here. It was lovely. The house was charming, clean and with all the amenities you need. Jesse and her sister Shiny's hospitality was incredible. A bag had been lost at the airport and Jesse helped communicate with the baggage department to ensure its safe delivery. Each morning they provided the most amazing breakfasts and we all chatted and got loads of useful information about the area and what we should do during our stay. My son asked them to teach him some local phrases and he found them fun and informative. I would highly recommend staying here, so much so we have arranged already to stay here again before we return home. Fantastic experience. Thank you!

As many have already written, this location is special because of Jessy and her sister Shiny. They are such lovely people and it was a real pleasure talking with them. And, as also mentioned by many, the breakfast Jessy makes for you is phenomenal --- real Kerala food and oh so delicious. The house itself is basic but clean and fully functional. It is located in a small residential enclave off the main road so it is quite and detached from the craziness of the street. It's not really within walking distance of the main sites in Fort Kochi and Mattancherry, but it's easy and inexpensive to get back and forth with a rickshaw. Overall, a truly memorable experience for the people you meet!

We three were roaming across country starting Delhi and all the way to the east and then south. Staying in hotels, lodges.... Cochin happened to be our last stop. And the quarters was like home and our host were like our parents. Getting us amazing breakfast. Feeding us and taking our daily reports and sharing their knowledge. Accommodating all our needs...

Bang in the middle of the colonial sections of Kochi, there's no better base to explore Fort Kochi from. I visited with family, and the rustic quality of the place, without compromising on amenities, is unmatched. The host was kind enough to share her culinary secrets with my mother.

I am Jessy Mathew aka The Fat Fanny*.
I live by simple codes: love your family, respect your job, always have enough homecooked food in the refrigerator to feed 10 people, and watch all movies that release in Fort Kochi, my hometown and favorite place in the world. I never shy away from learning and experimenting, and constantly pick up something new. You could learn more about me and my family when we meet at our homestay venture, The Quarter Crowd.

*This is my second venture into hospitality. I also promote the family owned popular restaurant 'The Fat Fanny's' in Koramangala, Bangalore
