Interaction with guests
Access to the house is by a keypad. The code is changed between guests, and I send it 5-7 days before you arrive. My default is to let people check in privately with their unique code. But, if you prefer, you can schedule to be checked in by me in person after 8am.
We are always available by phone/text/email to help with questions about tourism/area sites and attractions, or to help with supplies. We have caretakers available to help with plumbing/heating emergencies, as well as snow removal during winter months.
Other things to note
***PLEASE BRING YOUR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WITH YOU!*** In Pennsylvania, beer is sold at beer distributors and liquor/wine is sold at state stores. You will not find alcohol at the gas station or grocery store. There are bars/restaurants to drink in nearby but if you want to enjoy your drinks at home, the nearest state store and beer distributors are 18 miles away (about a 30-minute drive one way from this house). For shorter stays, bringing your wine/beer/liquor/groceries will save you a lot of time. The Alley bar is only a couple of miles and will sell 6 packs to-go, but not at a discounted price (if they charge $3/beer, a six pack will be $18).
Included in your rental:
Bedding (sheets, pillowcases)
Fabric softener sheets
Coffee maker (drip pot and Keurig)

Tin foil, zip locks, plastic wrap if cooking
Disposable utensils/plates/red solo cups if you don't like doing dishes on vacation
Your own shampoo/laundry soap/body wash if you have allergies to standard products
Half and Half for the fridge if you don't like non-refrigerated individual Coffeemate coffee creamers
Firewood- WE DO NOT PROVIDE FIREWOOD
Bug spray/sunscreen (seasonal)
***PLEASE TEXT OR SEND AN AIRBNB MESSAGE WHEN YOU CHECK IN AND WHEN YOU CHECK OUT*** We love being able to offer the privacy that goes with a keypad entry, but this requires good communication from our guests so we can be confident in the safety and care of our homes. This also allows us to coordinate our cleaning service. A quick and short message will do just fine- we know you want to settle in and enjoy!
We ask that all guests take perishable (i.e. kitchen) garbage to the bins outside the garage on checkout. If your bags won't fit in the cans, you can put them in the garage so wildlife can't tear them open. Please also take/throw away any perishable groceries you brought with you when you leave, and make sure dishes are done or being done in the dishwasher on leaving.
Lock all doors and turn off any space/electric heaters, gas fireplaces, etc., on checkout.
Finally, please do not request to bring your pet. Our spaces are listed as pet-free because pet hair is very difficult to remove. So, regardless of how well-trained, all pets present this problem and are not allowed. Thank you for your consideration!

As a traveler: I'm an avid traveler who's lived all over, and I love a local experience! I host full-time in Western PA so I show my rentals lots of love and leave them very clean
As a host: We have two fantastic vacation homes that we use less as we travel more, and what better way to hold onto these houses than to share them with other people/families looking for new adventures! Both houses were designed with kids in mind, but are also perfect for romantic getaways and tour groups.
As seasoned travelers who've endured a bad stay or two, we understand that when you book your travel lodging, you're trusting your host to offer you a beautiful, comfortable, and hospitable space to share with your loved ones.
With this in mind, we're offering flexible check-in policies, cleanliness, amenities, attention to detail, and special accommodations. We live within 45 minutes of our listed properties and are just a text/email/phone call away.
Thank you so much for considering booking one of our homes. We hope you'll love them as much as we do!
