Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Nestled in the heart of the rolling hills of the North Downs and a stones throw from the historic cathedral city of Canterbury, the East Kent coast, and the Channel Tunnel, the Den is a stunning oak-framed, self-contained loft studio. Guests and pets will enjoy the endless walks in the immediate locality as well as in the surrounding 10 acres of gardens. The Den is ideal for couples looking for the perfect country getaway but a further pull-out sofa bed can accommodate children as well.

The space
The Den offers a separate washroom, an open plan kitchen with hob, oven and fridge, breakfast bar, free-standing bath, comfy country-style double bed and a pull-out sofa-bed. All utensils provided. Integrated TV/DVD player, BOSE CD player.

There is a large 6 person wood fired fresh water hot tub which guests can also rent for an additional charge of £150 which covers both the initial set up and all the seasoned wood needed to keep the tub going for the duration of your stay.
Advance booking of the wood fired hot tub is essential as it takes approximately 5 hours to heat up so we have to prepare it in advance of your arrival.
Please note, this is a studio apartment, in the UK this refers to an apartment with only one space; kitchen, bedroom, living room are all in one space.
there is a separate washroom with a bash basin and toilet however.
(Airbnb's AI system categorizes photos by rooms, such as "kitchen", "bedroom" etc, in the context of a studio apartment, this does not mean that these rooms are separate.

Guest access
The Den is located in the grounds of Ivy Cottage which guests are free to walk in. In those cases where the main house hasn’t been let guests will be able to use the 6 person hot tub and the summer garden chill out room for an additional charge. The hillside garden and meadow extend to 10 acres which lead up to several footpaths including the ever popular Elham Valley Way.
Perfect stopover if you need quick access to the Channel Tunnel or the ferry to France.

Other things to note
Wingmore is very much off the beaten track and is ideal for those looking to get lost in the depths of the countryside however, If you are planning on a self catering stay please be advised that the nearest village shop is over 3 miles away. We are always happy to stock basic items but for the more culinary minded please come prepared!

If you are planning to arrive without a car, please mention this in your booking so we can supply you with the local bus information or local taxi number.

If you are booking to arrive with a dog, we will ask you to confirm the breed of dog in advance of accepting your booking. We live on site and have a small child and an elderly and mellow lurcher (who can be spotted in some of the marketing photos). We cannot accept aggressive or dangerous dogs.
