This beautiful approx 130 year old Cape Dutch house is beautiful! It oozes charachter, with multiple living spaces, and 4 bedrooms, all ensuite. We went in winter and the homes was cozy and warm due to underfloor heating and heaters (gas and electric). Lovely garden, and well equipped kitched with SMEG oven and gas hob. Walking distance to the main road and local pub, or a very short 3-5 drive to other restaurants along the main road. Situated about 3 blocks from the main road: close enugh to the life of Franschhoek, yet far enough away in a leafy quiet street filled with similarly beautiful old white Cape Dutch homes. Perhaps the star of all was Ria, who is the managing agent for the owner Phillipe. She is a Dutch national and has European-level service. Nothing was too much for her. She drove around with us when we arrived to help us buy odd and ends, showed us where the local pub is, and ensured that there were adequate heaters to keep us warm. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Phillippe himself was quick to answer our questions via the Airbnb website. Highly recommended, especially if you have kids who will love to run around and play in the beautiful garden.

This was a splendid place. Franschhoek is a very romantic town, and Philippe's place fits right in. The upstairs bedroom is wonderful, with a great view of the mountains, and the kitchen is fully equipped. This is exactly the kind of place I hope for when I use Airbnb.

The lovely Cape Dutch cottage is located in the heart of Franschhoek, within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the fun weekly farmers market. The house is beautifully decorated, with quirky touches that give it real character. It's a big house with four bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. The bathrooms had great water pressure with nice hot water, which we really needed because we visited in winter. Which is perhaps our biggest complaint about the place, that not having central heating, it got pretty chilly. Ria, our contact on the ground, was brilliant and cheerful, as she went out on a Friday night looking for electric blankets and space heaters for us! The back yard and patio area is lovely and it would be a great space to hang out in summer. It even has a small pool! We would certainly visit again, but next time - we'll come in summer.

a rustic thatch house with 2 decent rooms down stairs both with ensuite. A small single cottage room in the garden with ensuite and then an enormous and awesome big room upstairs in the main house with ensuite. Very comfortable and pleasant. about a 10 min walk t the main street. This is a thatched house with a cottagey feel which is very charming..

We had such a great stay at this house. It's spacious and beautifully decorated, and the garden is a lovely space to hang out or have dinner. It was in a quiet street close to town and Franshhoek is stunning. Check in and check out was really simple too. Definitely recommend staying here.
