There is no private parking at the property, but I will point you to a local parking business with a location 5 minutes walk away.
10 mins walk to Edinburgh Castle, 1 min to the EICC and 5 mins from Haymarket Station and tram/bus route for the Airport.
The apartment is freshly modernised with a new kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and dressing room.
There is no private parking at the property. You can book parking at the Brittania Car Park on Semple Street, which is a 5 minute walk away. It's the best value parking for the central location. Please note this is a car parking business and I have no affiliation to them.
The apartment is perfectly located for the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), the financial district of Edinburgh (Standard Life, Aberdeen Asset Management, Lloyds, JLL, Clydesdale, KPMG, PWC, Deloitte).
The kitchen has all the mod cons - integrated fridge with freezer box, washing machine, dish washer, microwave oven, electric oven and induction hob and jazzy kick plate lights! There are 4 breakfast bar stools which are great for cooking, socialising and working at. The golden pendant lights give the room a wonderful ambience. The log burning stove provides the room with real character.
A PS4 is available for guest use but isn't set up to be used online. It can be used as a Bluray/DVD player and the available DVDs may be used at your leisure.
The glorious bathroom is tiled in travertine and has a large and powerful mains shower and sumptuously double-ended oval bath with shower attachment. The toilet is wall hung and the basin unit has plenty of storage. The bright LED-framed mirror has a heat pad in the centre that prevents it steaming up. The wooden venetian blinds can be altered to let in as much or little light as you like. There is underfloor heating available which is set on a timer.
Just off the bathroom is a large dressing room with ample space for all your storage needs. The dressing room lights provide plenty of clear light and there is a hairdryer available for use.
The bedroom is a sanctuary in itself with breathtaking westerly views out to Murrayfield, the Forth road bridges and the Pentland Hills. This creates a real sun trap in the afternoon in the bedroom. The blinds on the velux window are black out blinds to ensure total darkness, should it be required. The books are there to be read, but as they are my own personal books, which I have painstaking collected, please leave them in their home. The super king bed in crisp white linen and velvet peony Claude chair will leave little to be desired. There is a floating drawer and phone shelf to the side of each bed. There is a socket here to charge your phone as well as dual control lights for the warm light side lamp, the LED clear reading light and the adjustable roof spotlights. There is extra storage available under the large oval mirror in the bedroom.
This space is ideal for 2 people but I have put 3 as a small child would be ok too. It's not sufficient space for 3 adults. A baby travel cot or single folding bed can be provided if asked for in advance. Please note we only provide the cot and mattress for the travel cot. You must provide any bedding.
The wooden floors are original Edinburgh floor boards and have been restored to their former glory in a dark oak.
Guests will have full access to the entire property. No rooms will be off limits and all contents within the flat are there for our guests use including wifi, the TV and DVD player via the PS4 console (with a range of DVDs available) and the cooking implements.
Interaction with guests
I am happy to communicate with all guests as much as necessary, but will otherwise leave you to enjoy your stay. When the booking is confirmed you will receive instructions via a web link with all the necessary information to check yourself in at your leisure after 3pm (unless by prior arrangement). Check in is via a secure key box for which you will be provided the code.
Check is out is strictly before 10am.
Other things to note
As previously mentioned, the apartment is located on the top floor of the building, so reasonable physical fitness will be required.
An all-in-one fire lighting bag is provided for the log burning stove - there is a £5 charge in the honesty box per bag used (lasts up to 2 hours).
