A very cool, chic, comfortable apartment with true hand made "cotto fiorentino" comes with a fully-equipped kitchen. Centrally located on a quiet upscale street. Modern style and newly renovated. Very close from the subway line "A" stop "Flaminio".

The space

Chic, comfortable and modern apartment right in the center of the city. Walking distance to see all the main attractions and a stones throw away from Villa Borghese. 50 meters from Piazza del Popolo and 200 meters from Piazza di Spagna. An Ideal Apartment for 2 persons or for family with 2 adults + 1 or 2 children. Newly decorated furnishings.

Guest access

How to get to the apt from Fiumicino airport:
3 ways to reach the apartment:
1) The cheapest (but NOT the fastest) is by bus "Terravision" departs every 20 min. -it takes 55min. to arrive to Stazione Termini- € 6 per person (book on line - cost is €4) .
Then catch METRO line "A"- direction Battistini- -STOP in "Flaminio".

Follow the EXIT (USCITA) for "Piazza del Popolo"- cross the big square - turn into the 1st right (after "Caffè Rosati") into via dell'Oca- the street changes name after few blocks into via Della Penna. The n°59 is on the left side. Push " Le Tre A" - 1st floor- 1st door on the right. (Elevator is avalable)
From Stazione Termini you cold also take a taxi, much easier and the cost is approximately €10.

2) by train -departs every 30min,- it takes 30 min.- cost € 14 per person stop in Roma Termini + metro or taxi (like before)

3) by private car, English speaking driver - I can reserve it for you. The cost is € 50 during daytime. Note: a regular taxi will cost about the same

Interaction with guests

I'll be present at the check in and it's always easy to contact me through my mobile or by email.

Other things to note

Daily tax (Rome regulation) - € 3.50p.pers. to be paid in cash at the arrival

I can offer you a very special tour of Rome with an italian student, Giovanni 20 year, who loves Rome and speaks fluently French and Latin and good English. For ex: 1) Roman's Family, palaces and art galleries (Galleria Colonna, Pamphili, PalazzoBarberini or Galleria Corsini or Galleria Borghese)
or 2) the Churchs in the centre
or 3) biking the Bridges of Rome and quarter Testaccio

There are "paying" parking close by and you can also rent scoter or bicycle close by.

Monica is the perfect host - she arranged our taxi transfer (to and from the airport) and when we arrived there was a bottle of wine and pizza waiting for us. She even equipped the kitchen with bread, honey and jam for breakfast, coffee and tea (and pasta if we got hungry in the evening!). The apartment is really lovely - very comfortable, cosy and quiet (couldn't hear any noises outside at all). I was visiting the city with a friend and the location of the apartment (2 seconds from Piazza Poppolo) is perfect - you can walk to any of the major sites in Rome and be there within 20-30 minutes max.

Monica as a lovely host - she'd left us a loaf of bread, milk, coffee, lunch on arrival and some drinks. She left us a huge list of recommendations and a local phone which we could use to contact restaurants or a taxi for reservations. The location of this property was perfect - we walked everywhere in the 4 days that we were there! It was just minutes from its own little square or the Spanish Steps, we were so pleased that everything was so close! The only (very minor!) negative was that we found the apartment quite cold, even though there was a hearing system in place. There were loads of blankets so we weren't cold at night but if you're planning on spending a fair amount of time indoors I would recommend bringing a jumper!

Amazing location. Lovely flat. Monica was a great host, fresh fruit from her garden and left us a nice bottle of wine. If returning to Rome would definitely stay here again.

Monica's apartment was in a perfect location for seeing all the sights in Rome. The place was really comfortable and clean, and my friends and I really enjoyed staying there. Monica left us some delicious fruit from her garden, some pasta and sauce and some bread and jam which was a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend staying there!

Monica was very flexible when we arrived late. The flat was small but perfectly formed, with everything that we could possibly have needed (and a few extras), it was also immaculately clean. The location is right by Piazza del Popolo, and right in the shopping district, as well as being a manageable walk to the rest of Rome. We would highly recommend Monica and her lovely apartment.

We caught an airport shuttlebus to our apartment which dropped us off right outside and Monica was there waiting for us which was lovely. The apartment is on a nice residential street and the area feels really safe and friendly. Monica took us straight up and showed us everything. She left us some fresh italian flatbreads to tuck into and some strawberries. The fridge was stocked with wine and soft drinks and there is tea and coffee etc... Kitchen really well equipped for a short stay. The apartment is really clean, bathroom well equipped with lots of towels. There is a hairdryer too. The wifi worked great and Monica also leaves a mobile phone in case you need her. Overall the apartment has a fun vibe which is why my 11 year old daughter chose it. Just a nice, warm friendly feel. The beds are very comfy - we needed those at the end of our busy days. The steps up to the second bed are quite steep and you can’t stand up in this area, but being so busy we only went up here to sleep so this was no problem for us. The nearest metro is 10 mins walk across the main square - we managed this no problem with small cases when we returned home. I would say this apartment would suit a couple or a family with younger children (2 max). There are lots of nice restaurants nearby - we loved Gusto which is probably 10 mins walk down one of the main streets - there is a list of nearby restaurants in the apartment. There is a supermarket about 10 mins walk also - it took us a while to find it so maybe ask Monica to do a little map. The Vatican is a 30 minute brisk walk down a main street but we used the metro for the Colosseum area as a little too far to go. We loved the Pantheon area - typical Italian squares and cobbled streets but felt that by being slightly out of the hustle and bustle you probably get more value for money with your accommodation so we were happy with our area choice. Spanish steps walkable as is Trevi (although it is being renovated so not much to see at the moment). Do NOT miss the Bascilica - arrive at 9am for a fast moving 20 mins queue or read up before you go on the 'groups' exit from the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican Museum which will save you queuing. Our apartment was a great base to see as much as we could possibly fit in. We felt very safe there which is important when you travel with kids. Thank you so much to Monica for being such an excellent host - we had a great time. I hope others find this review helpful - Rome is certainly a city where you need to do your homework before you go if you are short on time!

Response from Monica:
Hi Louise and thanks for your review that , I think, is one of the best that I received, very well done, perfect description and very usefull for other guests. I do hope people will read it even if it's long. I'll follow yr suggestions and I'll buy the electric kettle . The Dvd player is already ok. I'm glad that you have noticed and appreciated the warm feeling that I tried to give to the apt: that was really my purpose, "make you feel at home" and not in a "guest house" where many people go. Sometimes, when the apt, is free, also my daughters stay there (as I live outside the city). Thanks for your being very on time at the arrival (it's not always like that) , being very quick in the answer on the email and a special thanks for how you left the apartment, very clean and tiny. I would say that Louise and her family are a 5stars guests and you're lucky if you have the opportunity to host them. Monica
