Your own private entrance allows you to come n go on your own schedule. There's a gate to the generous backyard right beside you. An antique full size iron bed that I refinished myself.

A unique and comfortable room in my modest 1930's home in a beautiful historic district. McKinney is a warm community with it's best parts within a mile from my home, including the town square, parks, grocery, movies and freeways.

The space

The room is crisp black & white with red. Fully furnished with a double bed, mini fridge, microwave, couch, dresser, desk and closet. Windows overlook a large shaded backyard filled with birds & squirrels. We share the bath and you may use the kitchen.

Guest access

We share the bath and kitchen. All bedrooms are private, the rest of the house is open to you. Wireless internet is available throughout the home. There is a TV in the living room. You may borrow my bicycle from the shed. You'll find restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, movies, parks, a lake plus The Square all within a mile or two.

Interaction with guests

This is my own home where I live. I'm open to interaction but can give privacy. You've got your own entrance, so I won't even know when you come and go. On the other hand, we share the bath and kitchen, so if you want company, just come on out.

Other things to note

There are fresh sheets and extra blankets and pillows in the built in cabinet.

I had high expectations - finally, a chance to actually live in a cottage home in this special historic district - & my expectations were far exceeded by the actual experience. The charm & authenticity of this sweet little house & the obvious loving care it has received over the decades was wonderful to experience. Being able to take daily walks thru this neighborhood filled with unique vintage homes & being able to appreciate details that would escape notice just driving around was priceless. And of course, there's good reason Chrisy is rated a superhost - she goes far out of her way to make sure you have every convenience & comfort in your window-filled room & you have full access to other parts of the home such as the lovely vintage kitchen and laundry area with sparkling clean appliances and the tree-shaded yard. And there are the super host pets ~ sweet Ren, not only so friendly & well behaved, but an excellent trick doer, even playing accompaniment to the player piano with his squeaky toy, and mysterious Dietrich, who kept it a secret that the way to his heart was with paper bags that he could explore & crawl into. Of course, they'll leave you alone if you don't encourage them to do otherwise, but for me they were definite super pluses.

Chrisy was an amazing host and her pup and kitty were even better. With my own room with separate entrance, I could come and go as I pleased and every time I did, I was greeted with an exuberant tail wag and a semi-disinterested meow. The shared bathroom had all the amenities with as much hot water as I wanted. My business meetings meant I was gone for most of the day but Chrisy was warm and welcoming when I was there. The snacks she graciously provided helped me get through my busy days. It's a great place to stay with awesome housemates and if I'm in town in the future, I would definitely stay with her again.

I own a few rental homes in the neighborhood. I like to read, quilt, and enjoy all the activities on The Square, which is just about a mile away. This is my own home where I live with my ginger dog and cat. I love my morning Chai Tea in the spacious backyard of my adorable bungalow home, pets, friends & family & my Lord. My favorite movie is Life Is Beautiful. I like every kind of music & listen to them all. I have traveled all the way around the world & lived abroad for about 7 years in several different countries.
