Stayed one night before our early afternoon flight out of Belize. Alan and Tony arranged to pick us up from the Ferry right after our week long trip to the island. He arranged for us to get a ride to the Sky Restaurant (best fried chicken) something to eat and obtain snacks for our night in. As others mentioned, you cross the river to your cabana- that has a comfortable hammock. Inside is equipped with cable television, full kitchen, nice bathroom and a comfortable bed. The host also provided a light breakfast at the main cabana. I would just suggest applying bug spray during hurricane season for the mosquitos outside the cabana. The airport was a quick 4 minute complimentary ride. =)

Thank you Shardey! We have tried everything including electronic zappers! The wet season is the wet season I am sorry to say! As you probably heard our neighbors across the river spray every night without result for years! Lol!

There really isn't more you can ask for in a place to stay on your way back home. Alan was beyond helpful in making sure we got there okay & had a fresh breakfast for us in the morning. If you are going between this place and any other place.. just do yourself a favor and pick this one.

Alan's place is awesome! Getting to the property is a bit of an adventure, but well worth it. Alan has been one of the best host I have come across. He arranged for pick up and drop off at the airport and also had a boat waiting for us at the dock to take us across the river to our room. The rooms are very lovely. There are hammocks on the patio in which is closed off by netting to allow you to relax without bothering with mosquitos and other insects. This place is a must when visiting Belize.

The River Bend B&B is the best accommodation you can get around Phillip Goldson airport. The cabins are clean, comfortable, air conditioned and screened, keeping the heat and the mosquitoes out. They're also pretty adorable, and you'll definitely want to enjoy the hammocks on the patio and listen to the birds chirping in the morning. There's also cable! It's situated right on a river with fantastic views and lovely wildlife (if you're lucky you'll see a dolphin or a pod of manatees). The water in the shower heats and cools to your desire (a real luxury after a week on ranches and beach cabanas!). There's a number of restaurants and grocery shops in the area should you wish to go out, while the kitchen is well appointed enough that you could cook on your own and stay in and relax. Tony and Vasquez are happy to ferry you over the river and out to the airport when you need your flight, and could not be more in tune and attentive to the needs of your stay.

If you're going for seclusion with an island twist, look no further than Alan's. Alan's place is minutes from the airport and he'll arrange for someone to pick you up. You'll be then taken on a quick boat ride by Mr. Vasquez across the river where Alan has erected some lovely little cabana on the shoreline. We witnessed some jungle iguanas quietly eating mangos in the corner upon our arrival which really set the tone. The cabana were perfectly tidy, had all the amenities you could ask for and included some lovely hammocks on your porch for chilling out. Because you're totally isolated from everything, security isn't a question and it will be more than difficult to try not to get 8hrs of sleep a night. To cap things off, you have the pleasure of having breakfast served by Alan and one of his close friends. Tony. These guys are absolute legends and we thoroughly enjoyed receiving tips of the islands from them as well as hearing their life stories. Hands down the best Airbnb I've ever stayed.
