As many reviewers have already said, this place is maintained by Shin's mom Noriko San, who is a very friendly and kind Japanese lady. Shin'S family is super kind and helpful. Though Noriko san doesn't speak a lot of English, she did make much effort trying to communicate and helping me via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) translate. She has a lot to share about Japanese culture and Kyoto, as well as her lovely old Izagaya. Also she had been incredibly helpful on public transport information. Thank you Noriko san and Shin San, will definitely consider to come back if there's chance!

Such a wonderful homestay ! Noriko is a lovely woman and a generous and kind host who does everything to make you feel at home and as welcomed as possible! The appartment is clean and comfortable within a great view of the hills. We strongly recommend the breakfast, a traditional Japanese meal that should not be missed ! Overall couldn't of asked for better !

One of the best Airbnb experiences I've had and a highlight of our trip in Japan! Noriko was a fabulous host and amazing cook. Her son Shin speaks English and was very helpful in coordinating our stay. He does not live there but was very responsive. The location is close to public transportation and in a quiet neighborhood that feels like a very local experience. I highly recommend if you want a more traditional experience and interaction with a wonderful hostess!

Hello, we are truely travel lovers, easy-going with one daughter in 3yrs. Shin travelled by motorbike across Japan, have cycled in Asia, Middle East and Europe, Saya lived in Cambodia for 2 yrs as a teacher.

Our mother A-chan, who is extremely friendly and has a full of hospitality, will also be a host supporting guests in Hokkaido together with her husband Hidezi.

Another mother Nori-P, has just started hosting in Kyoto to welcome you with her experience that was running a small bar in Japanese style for 15 years until April 1st, 2017.

Both Shin&Saya like scuba diving especially in South East Asia, some hiking, driving, camping. Shin likes photography, Saya likes skiing, has a degree of calligraphy.

Since we received a lot of hospitality during our travel and stay, we are willing to support guests. We're also visiting more local home as a guest to experience other cultures. Our dream is to be digital nomads family.

Since we started Airbnb, our vision is to create a 'welcome back home' atmosphere. Therefore, we always would like to communicate with guests even it's only a couple of words.
