The space
We have a king bedroom suite with a private bath, that is very well appointed, spacious, and the bed is very comfortable. There is a private entrance, it is never a shared space.
The Ginger Bed can be booked as a one or two room suite, the second bedroom has a queen bed. (See our other listing The Ginger Bed King and Queen Suite, which is perfect for families or friends).
The Ginger Bed is in Ashburnham MA.
Ashburnham MA is home to The Cushing Academy, Frederick Historic Piano Collection, it has great hiking at nearby Mount Watatic and Mount Monadnock... and winter fun at the Wachusett mountain ski area, and Windblown xc-skiing in NH. We are also near the Westminster School, Franklin Pierce University, the Colonial Hotel (a popular wedding venue), and a few summer camps. Ashburham is a sweet small town founded in 1765 and a beautiful area in all seasons. The fall is stellar!
We are in town within walking distance to The Cushing Academy, other sites, stores and restaurants.

Guest access
Guests have access to their room, breakfast/dining area, bathroom, garden and parking area. You have a lot of privacy. It feels like an apartment. It is never a shared space.

Other things to note
Please take note, we have a stone path to the entrance. Slippery when there's Ice and snow. Walk with care.

We are Laura and Michael Kirkpatrick Before our move back to Massachusetts, we owned and operated an 118 acre organic vegetable farm with a bed and breakfast for nine years in Central New York. Previous to buying our own farm, we lived in Jamaica Plain and grew heirloom tomatoes for Whole Foods and Boston-area restaurants on Applefield Farm in Stow, MA. Michael is also a freelance writer and former owner of the Center Street Cafe in Jamaica Plain, MA. While at the restaurant Michael began working with area farmers to ensure the menu included as much locally-grown and organic produce as possible. He has written articles for The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald Sunday Magazine, and Edible Boston. Laura is a visual artist whose interests include painting, photography, graphic design, cooking, yoga, and gardening. She also has an interior decoration-color consultation business with a main focus on color. (Website hidden by Airbnb) We love having the Ginger Bed, living in Ashburnham, and being back in MA.
