We are a composer and artist couple who live in a large renovated church hall in the Rondout section of Kingston, just up the street from restaurants, marinas, art galleries, boating, kayaking, and easy drives to hikes and swimming or skiing. We are perfectly situated less than 20 minutes drive from Woodstock, Bard College, Rhinebeck, Rosendale, mountain lakes and waterfalls. Organic coffee and teas are included in the morning along with highspeed WIFI internet access. The home is filled with beautiful abstract expressionist paintings. While this is our smallest bedroom it can accomodate 3 people with a full sized loft bed and a single bed, unique lighting from vintage windows and a writing or laptop surface with strong highspeed wifi signal. The room is filled with quilts and tapestries from early American and Japanese artists. In the warmer weather guests can sit in the garden and read/text/surf by the fountain or under the umbrella. There is an easy walk down the hill to "The Strand" where yachts and tour boats dock and restaurants, galleries and shops abound.
Guests share 2 full bathrooms and there is a 3rd private bathroom that we will share if there is overflow. The 2 guest baths includes a really powerful full pressured shower with a claw foot tub and a jacuzzi in the other bathtub. While we are generally working in our studios guests are welcome to come in for a tour. Feel free also to ask for a tour of Peter and Julie's studios to see recently created works as well as works in progress.
The airbnb honeymoon is over and we've just been required by the county to collect a 2% room occupancy tax and NYS 8% sales tax which we will collect when you arrive via check or cash. In addition to coffee and tea we are happy to prepare a delicious locally sourced home cooked breakfast for ten dollars per guest. On nice days we serve breakfast in the garden and in inclement weather guests gather around the farm table in the kitchen for a relaxing gourmet breakfast.
