Welcome to the Cleveden Den (Apartment 6C) - a functional and warm urban haven. There are two lifts which carry guests to the 6th floor. The Den faces the fabulous west and is therefore flooded with light. There are views across the city to the hills beyond. Relax in the cosy bedroom with its kingsize bed, white cotton & linen furnishings, blackout blind and homely decor. A second, single temporary bed can be set up in the walk-in cupboard if required (please request if needed). New double-glazing keeps the rain and wind at bay as well as providing sound-proofing. On warmer days, the large living room windows can be pulled open wide, to bring the outside sunshine into the room. New wall-mounted heaters provide comfortable heat throughout. Virgin media provide a TIVO package, including internet access. The new kitchen and bathroom are modern and clean. Toiletries are provided incase guests forget any necessary items. Robes and an abundance of white towels, offer an additional luxurious touch. Have the choice of having baths or showers. There is a compact dining table with 4 chairs and the kitchen is well stocked with the pots, crockery and utensils required to cook dinner. There are laundry facilities and storage for clothing in the hall cupboard and within the bedroom. Easy to use appliance guides have been created to make living in the apartment easy. There is safe bike storage in the basement where the bins are located. A high chair and travel cot is available, if required.
There's an array of artefacts which have been made or found along the way. These have been lovingly kept and given a home here. My love of Scotland, maps, knitting, stone carving and industrial interiors come together in the space and recycling is embraced.
The apartment is a stone's throw from the Nuffield Hospital and Hotel Du Vin at One Devonshire Gardens. This hotel has a fabulous lounge bar which is incredibly sexy! Stay in and snuggle up on the sofa in front of the big telly or be enticed out for a gin cocktail (and free nibbles). It's only a short walk to Byres Road, the hub of the west end, or hop onto one of the frequent buses traveling up and down Great Western Road. I have provided a hand-drawn map for guests which easily directs guests to the more interesting (the opinion of myself and my chums) bars, restaurants, shops and parks nearby. Come come and live the good life in the Cleveden Den.
The whole apartment is for your own personal use. I live nearby so i'm contactable if any issues arise. I can meet you for your arrival or leave keys in the key box.
You can message or call me if you require any assistance. I live around the corner from the Cleveden Den.
The cosy apartment is in the heart of the west end. Leaving the car in the free space allows you freedom to cheaply explore by foot, train or 'clockwork orange'. You can walk to the Botanic Gardens with its Victorian greenhouses and statues. Hotel Du Vin bistro with it's lush bar is just across the road. The warmth and geniality of glaswegians will be experienced in favourite haunts; the famous Barras market, Tchai-Ovna tea house, brick pubs of Ashton Lane and Ben Nevis & Oran Mor whisky bars.
Local taxi information is provided inside the main door.
There are a number of local buses and the apartment is located a 15 minute walk from either Hillhead or Kelvingbridge Underground stations.
The hand-drawn map should help you get easily acquainted with the locality and transport options.
The flat is well stocked with provisions to make your stay comfortable. This includes toiletries, tea/coffee, biscuits & other kitchen essentials.
I can offer bag storage in the hall cupboard, after check-out, to allow you to have your last day luggage free whilst exploring Glasgow.
